General objective The grants will fund a project designed to promote the implementation of Council of Europe Recommendation CM/Rec(2019)1 on preventing and Combating Sexism and in particular to: 1. Raise awareness about, and help to identify, the phenomena of sexism and sexist behaviour in different areas. 2. Identify possible ways forward and create tools as relevant to overcome sexism in different countries/sectors. 3. Raise awareness about the Council of Europe Recommendation on Preventing and Combating Sexism. The project shall aim specifically at addressing sexism as defined by the Recommendation and should not focus solely on other phenomena such as sex-based discrimination or different forms of violence against women (stalking, sexual harassment etc.), although the link with these phenomena should be made. The project shall include activities in at least 10 member states from different regions of the Council of Europe. The countries to be covered by the proposals as well as the foreseen activities for each country shall be specified in the application form. Activities at the national level shall be undertaken in cooperation with national branches / member organisations of the umbrella NGO submitting the proposal. The project shall be carried out by an umbrella non-governmental organisation with strong expertise and experience in gender equality and women’s rights. It shall be carried out by the umbrella organisation in cooperation with national branches / member organisations in respect of activities at national level. The umbrella organisation may therefore sub-grant part of the funding to national branches / member organisations.
