GENERAL OVERVIEW OF THE EUROPE FOR CITIZENS PROGRAMME
Under the overall aim of bringing the Union closer to citizens the general objectives of the Programme are:
- to contribute to citizens' understanding of the Union, its history and diversity;
- to foster European citizenship and to improve conditions for civic and democratic participation at Union level.

Measure Town Twinning
This measure aims at supporting projects bringing together a wide range of partner towns in a town twinning event around topics in line with the objectives of the Programme and taking into
consideration the multi-annual priorities. Town twinning projects must organise project activities within 21 days (maximum duration of the project).
By mobilising citizens at local and Union levels to debate on concrete issues from the European political agenda, this measure will seek to promote civic participation in the Union policy making
process and develop opportunities for societal engagement and volunteering at Union level.
Twinning must be understood lato sensu, thus referring to the municipalities which signed or are engaged to sign twinning agreements as well as to the municipalities having other forms of
partnerships fostering their cooperation and cultural links.
Maximum grant
The maximum grant for a Town Twinning project is EUR 25 000.

The programme's specific objectives are to:

—increase the employability of students,

— improve the quality of higher education in Africa and its relevance to Africa's development vision,

—strengthen the modernisation and internationalisation of African higher education institutions, and promote the development of an African higher education and research space.

Eligible applicants and partnership composition

The partnership must be constituted of minimum four and maximum six African HEIs as partners (including the applicant) and one technical partner from the EU.

Eligible applicants and partners are HEIs registered in Africa that provide courses at postgraduate level (master level and/or doctorate degree) of higher education leading to a qualification recognised by the competent authorities in their own country. Only HEIs accredited by relevant national authorities in Africa are eligible. Branches of HEIs from outside Africa are not eligible.

The technical partner has to be a HEI from one of the EU Member States having been awarded an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education.

Sector Skills Alliances are transnational projects identifying or drawing on existing and emerging skills needs in a specific
economic sector and/or translating these needs into vocational curricula to respond to those needs.
Sector Skills Alliances are intended for vocational education and training (VET), at any EQF levels from 3 to 8, including the upper-secondary level, the post-secondary non-tertiary level as well as the tertiary level (e.g. Universities of applied sciences, Polytechnic institutes, etc.). Applications that focus on the VET at tertiary level (EQF levels 6 to 8) must include a strong work-based learning component, and also include at least one other VET qualification level between EQF levels 3 to 5 (i.e. not-exclusively tertiary level).
Sector Skills Alliances are required to apply EU wide instruments and tools such as the EQF, ECVET, EQAVET, as well as the Council Recommendation on a European Framework for Quality and Effective Apprenticeships, whenever relevant.
A particular focus will be on digital skills. 

Also, the transition to a circular and greener economy needs to be underpinned by changes to qualifications and national education and training curricula to meet emerging professional needs for green skills and sustainable development.

The objective of the call is to fund projects involving the selection, preparation and deployment of EU Aid Volunteers to contribute to strengthening the Union's capacity to provide needs-based humanitarian aid aimed at strengthening the capacity and resilience of vulnerable and disaster-affected communities in third countries. It also supports actions aimed at strengthening the capacities of implementing sending and hosting organisations
participating / intending to participate in the initiative.

ELIGIBLE ACTIONS
The eligible activities of a co-production fund including the provision of financial support to eligible third parties for eligible projects conforming to the following criteria:
- Production of feature films, animations and documentaries of a minimum length of 60 minutes intended primarily for cinema release.
- Implementation of concrete distribution strategy aiming at the better circulation of the supported works. The film should be distributed in at least 3 territories out of which at least
one participating in the MEDIA Sub-programme and at least one third country
The action must start on 01/09/2018 and end on 30/06/2021

ELIGIBLE ACTIONS
The present call for proposals is aimed at supporting actions and activities taking place in and outside countries participating in the MEDIA Sub-programme.
Only those applications corresponding to at least one of the 3 Actions below will be considered as eligible:
• Action 1 – Business to business (physical) markets for European audiovisual professionals
• Action 2 - Online tools encouraging business-to-business exchanges
• Action 3 – Business to business promotional activities of European works
Activities must start between 01/06/2018 and 30/06/2019.
The maximum duration of the action is 12 months.

The 2020 BBI JU Call for proposals  open until 3 September 2020. 

With an indicative budget of €102 million, the call for proposal it covers 16 topics across four strategic orientations: feedstock, process, products, and market uptake.

The online workshop will be divided into two parts:

• Presentation of the calls and tips on how to write a successful project proposal by representatives from the BB JU and NCPs 
• Participants will be invited to moderated exchanges around virtual discussion tables, focusing on the shortlisted calls. ERRIN will facilitate these exchanges and where possible, support their follow-up.

Call priorities

- supporting the promotion of European translated literature;
- encouraging the translations from lesser used languages2
into English, German, French and Spanish (Castilian) as these may contribute to a wider circulation of the works;
- encouraging the translation of less represented genres such as works for a younger public (children, adolescents and young adults), comics/graphic novels, short stories or poetry;
- encouraging the appropriate use of digital technologies in both the distribution and promotion of the works;
- encouraging the translation and promotion of books which have won the EU Prize for Literature (see http://www.euprizeliterature.eu);
- raising the profile of translators. For that reason, publishers will be required to include a biography of the translators in each translated book.

The priority outcomes of this call for proposals are  namely to support the generation, aggregation and cross-border/cross
domain re-use of open datasets, increase the HPC (High Performance Computing) and data capacities of the European Data Infrastructure , and to promote the use of HPC and
data across borders in the public interest.

Each proposal must address only one of the following Objectives and should clearly specify which Objective is being addressed.
Objective 1: Support for the re-use of information made discoverable/available through the European Data Portal.

Objective 2: Generation of cross-border services providing access to harmonised thematic open dataset(s) and the corresponding metadata.

Objective 3: Creation of generic access services to increase the HPC and data capacities of the European Data Infrastructure

The AAL Call 2018 has the following key features that differ from previous AAL calls:

• It is open to collaborative projects developing ICT-based solutions targeting any application area(s) within the AAL domain, with a focus on specified markets;
• It allows for more flexibility regarding scope, size and duration of the proposed projects, including small collaborative projects.

Networks of Towns are expected to:
- Integrate a range of activities around the subject(s) of common interest to be addressed in the context of the Programme’s objectives or multi-annual priorities;
- Have defined target groups for which the selected themes are particularly relevant and involve community members active in the subject area (i.e. experts, local associations, citizens and
citizens’ groups directly affected by the theme, etc.);
- Mobilise citizens across the Europe: a project should involve a minimum of 30% of invited participants. "Invited participants" are international participants sent by the eligible partners
- Serve as a basis for future initiatives and actions between the towns involved, on the issues addressed or possibly on further issues of common interest.

Maximum grant for a Network of Towns project is EUR 150 000.
