Club Med Looks West For Fresh Powder | Club euro alpin: Economie tourisme montagne sports et loisirs | Scoop.it

To cap a companywide renovation that started eight years ago, Club Med has chosen an unlikely destination: the ski slopes of North America.

The venerable French resort operator Club Méditerranée—once mostly known for its beachfront huts and sprawling buffets—wants to fill the gap in its portfolio with upscale ski resorts in the U.S. and Canada, which represents 25% of the global skiing market. "If you want to be the leader in something, you should be everywhere the market is," said Xavier Mufraggi, chief executive of Club Med's North American operations.
