The Library of Congress is an amazing resource. It is the largest library in the world and has put much of their collection online.

The Institute has just "opened" with 42 exhibits that explore a wide variety of events from 1905 - 2008. The site is "to provide a visually rich and interactive online experience for telling cultural stories in new ways. Discover exhibits by expert curators, find artifacts, view photographs, read original manuscripts, watch videos, and more."
