MTV teams up with the popular game "Angry Birds" to help raise awareness to children and teens who play this game. Games control children's behaviors so this commercial can make children do something that can't be taught in real life. The media is mostly viewed outside the classroom when students are searching the Internet or playing with apps on their technological devices.

Digital literaces and web literacies - are they distinct from one another, or does one live within the other? This post looks at eight "essential elements of Digital Literaries: 1. Cultural; 2. Cognitive; 3. Constructive; 4. Communicative; 5. Confident; 6. Creative; 7. Critical and 8. Civic." After a brief discussion the concept of Web Literacies are addressed, with five elements being recognized: Exploring, Authoring, Connecting, Building and Protecting. The conclusion is that Web Literacies are a component of Digital Literacies. As educators, administrators and all those with a stake in education ponder, reflect, consider and urge a change in educational frameworks, there are other social changes happening as well. Teachers accept the responsibility for instilling digital literacy in their students of any age. It is not a skill young people should attempt to learn on their own as it is more complicated than it appears.
