If you have not had a chance to check out Dan Meyer and his method of teaching math please take the time and check out the links in this post. Not only is there a talk he gave at TED called 'Math Class Needs a Makeover' (embedded in the post) there is also a link to his to his '101 questions' site, where the community may pose problems and ask questions.
