Digital Storytelling With Comics

Digital Storytelling With Comics | Digital Presentations in Education | Scoop.it

On Monday I published a short guide to digital storytelling with comics. This evening I gave a free webinar presentation based on that free guide. More than 200 people registered for the webinar in less than 48 hours. If you wanted to join and missed it, the recording of the webinar, sponsored by Storyboard That, is now available here and as embedded below.

Baiba Svenca's insight:

Richard Byrne (Free Technology for Teachers) has posted a useful recording of his webinar about storytelling and using StoryboardThat for creating stories with students.

There is also a great guide in PDF format to digital storytelling which you can download for free.

Excellent guide about how comics can be used to create short stories or to storyboard a larger project. Links to free versions of related software too - StoryboardThat.com; WeVideo.com (for turning comic strips into movies) and WidBook.com (for creating multimedia ebooks - and it's also a collaborative writing platform).

This is worth checking out. I am always searching for new ways to reach my students.

Storyboard That – online storyboard creator for schools

Storyboard That – online storyboard creator for schools | Digital Presentations in Education | Scoop.it
Storyboard That is a cutting edge Web 2.0 tool for rapidly creating amazing storyboards, no art skills needed. Great for business meetings and in the classroom for students to express their creativity.
Baiba Svenca's insight:

Storyboard That came into existence about half a year ago, it's been upgraded and improved so that now it makes a great online tool for collaborative storytelling. Students can express their creativity by making their stories in a team which then can be downloaded as PowerPoint presentations.

A single user can make 3 storyboards a week for free. If a teacher wants to create a private classroom portal, it will cost $24.95 per year. There is a free trial option. Check out Storyboard That for educators http://www.storyboardthat.com/education
