Content is king! Content marketing is the only marketing left! Content isn’t just the king, it’s the kingdom!
Blah, blah, blah.You’ve heard it before. And you’re probably still dutifully cranking out content as fast as you can create it. I commend you for your dedication. But it’s not like you have a choice.
Content marketing is the de facto godfather of the digital realm. It presides over cyberspace with an iron fist. Disrespect it (by not doing it), and you’re swiftly left beaten and bruised by the side of the New Jersey turnpike after being thrown from a moving car....

Are you ready for the biggest information explosion in history?
If you don’t know by now, the Internet of Things (IoT) is going to take the world by storm in the coming years. A system of interconnected physical devices, IoT will enable humans, animals and man-made objects to transmit data over a network through biochip implants, built-in sensors or any other thing that can be assigned an IP address.
This means that we will soon have more real-time data at our disposal than ever before. In fact, the amount of information in the universe is expected to grow 10-fold by 2020.
What are we to do with so much information? The simple answer is that we have to get better at visualizing information in the form of data visualizations and infographics....

Most content marketers are familiar with the concept of content curation, even if they’re not practicing it themselves just yet. Sometimes this can be because they don’t have any good examples to go off. As they say in storytelling, it’s often better to show rather than tell.
To this end Curata decided to showcase several businesses successfully curating content for their brands, whether business or consumer-facing, on their own platform or through social channels. The ten companies below are doing curation right.

Sending a newsletter in itself is not difficult. But curating an excellent newsletter that people love and find valuable is much more challenging. Creating a successful newsletter takes a lot more thought and effort than linking a handful of articles in an email template. You need a trusted arsenal of content curation tools to help you manage all the content.
Let’s take a closer look at what it takes to be a curator, the content curation tools available to you, and how you can find content that few people are already sharing. To get started, there are three things a curator should do before they start to source their content.
Here's a useful post that shows how curators can work best and looks at 10e best curation tools available.

One of the most effective types of content (when you look at results vs time to create) is curated content. The basic idea is to take some (or all) of content created by someone else and feature it along other related content. (Of course, you always provide credit.r)
Even something as simple as a link to a guide in a post for more information could be considered curated content. You’re finding content you know your readers will be interested in and then connecting them to it.
Almost all content marketers curate content in one way or another. In fact, one report found that 82% of marketers curate content. Overall, the best marketers create around 65% of their own content and curate an additional 25%.
One of the most common ways to use curated content is for social media marketing. You typically need to share content other than your own to be successful, so finding the best content for your readers (that you didn’t make) is a key part of the process....
Neil Patel shows which types of curated content you should create as well as how to create them in order to maximize your marketing results.

Notwithstanding the viral content-marketing tam-tam keeps selling the idea of content curation as a miracle-shortcut to work less, produce more content and get all of the benefits that an online publisher would want to have, reality has quite a different shade.
To gain reader's attention trust and interest, it is evidently not enough to pull together a few interesting titles while adding a few lines of introductory text.
Unless your readers are not very interested themselves into the topic you cover, why would they take recomendations from someone who has not even had the time to fully go through his suggested resources?
Superficially picking apparently interesting content from titles or even automatically selecting content for others to read is like recommending movies or music records based on how much you like their trailers or their cover layouts.
Can that be useful beyond attracting some initial extra visibility?
How can one become a trusted information source if one does not thoroughly look and understand at what he is about to recommend?
This is why selling or even thinking the idea of using content curation as a time and money-saver is really non-sense.
Again, for some, this type of light content curation may work in attracting some extra visibility in the short-term, but it will be deleterious in the long one, as serious readers discover gradually that content being suggested has not even been read, let alone being summarized, highlighted or contextualized.
Content curation takes serious time.
A lot more than the one needed to create normal original content.
To curate content you need to:
(While it is certainly possible to do a good curation job without doing exactly all of the tasks I have outlined above, I believe that it is ideal to try to do as many as these as possible, as each adds more value to the end result you will create.)
These are many more steps and activities than the ones required to create an original piece of content.
Curation is all about quality, insight and attention to details.
It is not about quantity, speed, saving time, producing more with less.
truly Curation should not be merely aggregating different links without taking off time to reflect indeed it is very to end up like some one buying clothes impulsively only to realise you could have done without some of them.

75% of marketers don’t have time to create custom content, according to Curata. Even if they do, time and resource constraints can limit velocity, quality, or marketers’ ability to effectively promote their branded assets.
Content Curation is the Cure
Today’s super-sharp marketers are investing heavily in content curation. By republishing and recasting existing content with full credit to the original source, you’re able to save time and resources while still providing extraordinary value to your audience.

4 Principles of A Networked World
Macrowikinomics author Don Tapscott shares great examples of his 4 emerging principles of our new digital world including:
* Collaboration.
* Transparency.
* Sharing.
* Empowerment
Marty Note
I found the discussion of the commons and the example of starling flocking behavior (at the end) the most resonant. I'd heard about the gold mine several times and agree with Tapscott - crowds are the key to our web future.
At Curagami we've been working on what it means to create online community. CTSE (Collaboration, Transparency, Sharing, Empowerment) are the table stakes of this new poker. We would add:
* Communication.
* UGC.
* Gamification.
Communication within and around the hub is a CSF (Critical Success Factor) for online community. You need to be able to follow and communicate with me and vice versa.
User Generated Content must be listened to, valued and rewarded with gamification or its a one-time "one and done" thing.
Highly engaging presentation. Gone are the days of Security and Reliability as the principles of a Networked world. The C-generation is pulling us to the CTSE world.

Become storytellers: Modern marketing is less about selling and more about creating brand experiences fueled by brand storytelling. You only have about eight seconds to catch consumers’ attention. To make those seconds count, thoroughly investigate your customers.
Some ways to do this: Start with exhaustive persona profiles to build buyer paths from high-level awareness down to purchase so that you’re creating the right types of offers to deliver the appropriate content at every stage of the buying process.
Persona research should include: raw data (surveys, internal sales, and analytics data), interviews with sales and support teams, and discussions with or polls sent to existing customers. Add Interest to Email. Despite news of its demise, email is still a marketing workhorse.
However, businesses must stop the “spray and pray” method in lieu of incorporating smarter strategies driven by automation to get the most out of the medium. Ways to standout in... keep reading

As a blogger, you may not always get to produce content as much as you want, so to keep your social accounts fresh and updated, you may need to curate other people’s stuff.
Plus you can’t just always promote your own posts 24/7 especially if you’re a newbie or you’ll become repetitive and eventually bore your followers.
But remember, you have to be picky with what you curate. Share content that your audience cares about. Don’t just randomly post anything or you’ll just frustrate your users. And this is why I’m writing this post, to help you find great stuff....

Crowds, Icons & Tribes
The more we work our Startup Factory Funded statup http://www.Curagami.com the more every client needs a combination of :
* Crowds.
* Icons.
* Tribes.
Crowds bring wisdom. Remember how few were smarter than a class of 5th graders? Every websites most VAST under-utilized resource is the wisdom of crowds they AREN'T tapping.
Icons create the language that makes a crowd work just hard enough to feel exclusive and included. If anyone can join for free there is no perceived value. No perceived value means your visitors will click away. On the other hand, if you have a language only you and your tribe understand - that isn't too dense or complex - curiosity may catch the cat.
Finally tribes are everyone's end product. Tribes = sustainable web presence. Tribes means you can delegate JOBS to AMBASSADORS and get out of the way. Tribes means you are on your way to the land of get more, do less. Tribes are where we lucky few Internet marketers are headed and we are riding a bullet train called Curagami :). M
Crowd needs vision of a leader, or jump into chaos
