Open Educational Resources (OER) are learning materials that are freely available for use, remixing and redistribution. ISLE OER applications will:
Build a network of contributors.
Improve access to useful, quality resources focused on learning and standards alignment.
Integrate with learning maps and other applications.
Offer attribution licenses for protecting and sharing works.
Provide tools for integrating and sharing resources and usage information.
The ISLE OER applications use the Learning Registry (LR) to access and contribute resources and create a searchable index. The LR provides an infrastructure for the transport of education data. The index does not search the Internet; it’s limited to the career and education resources identified by organizations such as NSDL, inBloom, OER Commons, ISLE, and others who publish resources to the LR. Each resource in the index is identified with a URL, description, tags, and usage information.
You can create, share, evaluate, and collaborate on career and education resources on the ISLE OER site.
