Behaviorism and "Cognitivism" are two branches of psychology that share similarities. Although they are, in many ways, the same it is important to recognize how different they are. Behaviorism focuses more on just what it is, behavior. It focuses on what can be observed and less about going deeper than "why." Cognitive psychology agrees with behaviorism, but tends to go further than just the behavior itself.
Behaviorism and cognitivism are very similar. For instance, they both use mechanism as a fundamental assumption. They also both use subjective metaphors as the base for objective science.
