Robin Good: YouTube is moving further ahead in the effort to find new and effective ways to "curate" its most valuable content and in doing it it may just provide a better service than live TV.
In this light it has partnered with Storyful, a content curation platform provider, to give life to a series of new curated channels with user-generated videos, covering live emergency crises around the world as they happen.
SocialMediaToday (AU) reports: ""YouTube collates Storyful’s verified footage and provides the most up to date clips in the separate Crisis Response One Box at the top of the search results, so that people can view legitimate and genuine footage relevant to the event, and keep apprised of what’s happening. Often, before they will be able to view it via mainstream media outlets..."
"YouTube created the Crisis Response One Box in conjunction with Storyful in an attempt to provide almost instant access to the latest breaking news footage in the event of a crisis or disaster. Information can be slow-flowing, particularly in making its way around the globe. Users don’t have to wait for their local news station to provide an update."
Mashable reports:"...The tool curates the most up-to-date videos and information on major crises and disasters. YouTube implemented it for the first time on Monday, once news of the floods broke.
The box also includes text information and resources, including links to Google’s Crisis Response project and related news." "...the Crisis Response One Box includes three types of content: a curated playlist of videos, a Google News cluster about the crisis and the Google Crisis Response page. Robin Good: Vidque is a web service which allows you to easily collect video clips from any website, RSS feed or Twitter account as they are published automatically. You can then later tag, edit the related info for each to help your collections stay organized.
From the official site: "Vidque is a free curation platform designed to help discover, filter and archive online video content. Controlled and curated by its users, Vidque aims to simplify the discovery of quality video content through the joint effort of the online community."
Vidque allows you to follow other Vidque users and to see and save all of the content they share.
Vidque is also capable of auto-collecting all of the video clips that are in one page by simply providing the reference URL of that web page.
All saved clips end up in your "collection", which can be viewed also according to the tags you have associated with each saved clip.

This is a great idea although I don't see where, from just reading the description of what it does, where it's any different than Reel Surfer or Keeeb or probably even a few others.
There's no doubt, however, that curating and aggregating video content can be a beneficial service to lots of niches.....etc. specific styles of cooking, auto repair, golf tutorials, dancing (e.g. videos on 'cross body lead').
I'll definately subscribe to the site and try it out. I'll sell you what I wish I cold find: I wish I could find a tool that made it really easy to insert notes that would display at specific points in vidoes. A lot of times I see videos where most of it it not interesting but a certain portion of it is.
CratePlayer è una web app o un webware, come preferite, che consente la creazione di compilation audio e video dai numerosi social network e social media del web (youtube, vimeo, dailymotion, ecc.) e dai vari siti web. E' possibile farlo anche attraverso un apposito bookmarklet che consente di catturare il video desiderato in modo molto semplice.
E' inoltre possibile, per ogni raccolta creata, inserire una copertina, predisporre una descrizione, aggiugnere dei tag, configurarla come privata o pubblica, condividerla (Goggle+, Facebook, Twitter, ecc.), incorporarla.
Molto utile per la didattica in quanto consente di creare raccolte di video e/o audio da fonti diverse e su un deterimnato tema / argomento da fornire agli studenti per approfondimenti e per lo studio, senza dover fornire loro lunghe liste di link. Utile anche come esercizio da far svolgere agli studenti fornendo loro un tema sul quale ricercare fonti audio e video da oprganizzare e integrare in una raccolta
