The Rise of Q&A Marketing - Curagami

The Rise of Q&A Marketing - Curagami | Curation Revolution | Scoop.it

Rise of Q&A Marketing

One of the biggest trends we've seen in 2017 is the Rise of Q&A Marketing. It's not hard to see why either. Amazon's Echo and Google Home point to the coming Internet of Things (IOT).

Once that tsunami hits Google's currency - searches fueled by questions and answers - becomes universal, ubiquitous, and demanding. New information architecture and really understanding what "responsive design" and "mobile first" really means is the least of what we'll need to understand as our content marketing and websites become crowdsourced platforms.

Popup Nation - Why We Are About To Crowdsource Everything

Popup Nation - Why We Are About To Crowdsource Everything | Curation Revolution | Scoop.it

Crowdsourcing's Marketing Secret

When I read Jeff Howe's Crowdsourcing: Why The Power of the Crowd Is Driving The Future of Business I missed the secret implication. The secret implication explored here is Popup Nation.

Popup Nation
Popup Nation is the removal of financial and cultural gatekeepers creating a new group of hotels, restaurants and books created by Andrew Keen's dreaded "cult of the amateur".

In fairness Keen's book was written in 2008 and that seems like a revolutionary lifetime ago. Today one thing is clear. We are about to crowdsouce everything.

This post explains WHY we will crowdsource everything soon and HOW crowdsource for fun and profit.

Do Cool Stuff, Change World, Cure Cancer: Cure Cancer Starter on Guru.com. Is Your Bid In?

Do Cool Stuff, Change World, Cure Cancer: Cure Cancer Starter on Guru.com. Is Your Bid In? | Curation Revolution | Scoop.it

Cure Cancer Starter - Crowdfunding Cancer Research
Loaded CureCancerStarter.org to Guru.com after our Atlantic BT team got overbooked. If you are a developer/designer and want to change the WORLD here is your chance.

How cool would that be?

Imagine you are sitting at a bar and an attractive woman (or handsome man) asks the inevitable, "What do you do," question. You take a sip of beer slowly, look away for a moment and then hold their eyes as you say, "I helped cure cancer".

Doesn't get any cooler than that. The guru.com project listing includes a summary, functional specifications and several revisions. If you've always wanted to be that guy (or girl) in that bar having that conversation then we are looking for YOU :).

Not that guy or girl but KNOW that guy or girl? If you know cool developers who love to stretch and do amazingly awesome things please give them a nudge and come along for a magical mystery tour. There is plenty of work to go around :).

Thanks, Marty

Four Principles For An Open Digital World - author Don Tapscott TED Talk Video

4 Principles of A Networked World
Macrowikinomics author Don Tapscott shares great examples of his 4 emerging principles of our new digital world including:

* Collaboration.

* Transparency.

* Sharing.
* Empowerment

Marty Note
I found the discussion of the commons and the example of starling flocking behavior (at the end) the most resonant. I'd heard about the gold mine several times and agree with Tapscott - crowds are the key to our web future.

At Curagami we've been working on what it means to create online community. CTSE (Collaboration, Transparency, Sharing, Empowerment) are the table stakes of this new poker. We would add:

* Communication.
* UGC.
* Gamification.

Communication within and around the hub is a CSF (Critical Success Factor) for online community. You need to be able to follow and communicate with me and vice versa.

User Generated Content must be listened to, valued and rewarded with gamification or its a one-time "one and done" thing.

malek's curator insight, September 2, 2014 1:00 PM

Highly engaging presentation. Gone are the days of Security and Reliability as the principles of a Networked world. The C-generation is pulling us to the CTSE world.

Crowdsoucing LOVE via Wisdom of Crowds Q&A

Crowdsoucing LOVE via Wisdom of Crowds Q&A | Curation Revolution | Scoop.it

Crowdsourcing LOVE Via Guru.com
I am BLOWN AWAY by the value of using Guru.com. When my team got too booked to help with CureCancerStarter.org I reached out to friends. One highly trusted friend mentioned posting on Guru.com.

I don't know if I will find a great team via Guru.com, though chances look very good. I do know the spec is already better thanks to the great questons being asked forcing me to THINK more like the crowd.

Well done Guru.com, well done! The linked piece discusses how social media is changing sellling. The art of the pitch is really the art of the Q&A now. I also share a few LOVE LESSONS hard won by having the Big C.

Martin (Marty) Smith's insight:

Writing aswers to questions from Guru.com is the most fun I've had all week. What a great TOOL, what a great way to bring wisdom of crowds to any project. Fair Warning - the piece attached to the G+ post goes to GEEKY fast and never returns. May bore you to tears.

SEO, LinkedIn and The Real You - How LinkedIn Is Crowdsourcing YOU

SEO, LinkedIn and The Real You - How LinkedIn Is Crowdsourcing YOU | Curation Revolution | Scoop.it

When my brilliant Quant friend Melinda Thielbar explained how Linkdedin is using gamification to clean their data I was stunned. Stunned at the sheer genius and power of LinkedIn's little endorsement game.

Today I confronted the two Martins. The Martin I THINK I am and the Martin who IS. Fascinating conversation and all from a little game. Brilliant.
