Blended learning via technology in the classroom

Blended learning via technology in the classroom | Creative teaching and learning | Scoop.it

"These five technology in the classroom tools will blend learning with the least amount of problems and the greatest amount of success ..."

Angélica Potes's curator insight, May 16, 2017 3:17 PM
In some way, today we are living the future which has got us closer to a set of technological inventions that are useful for us in the sense that they cover many of our necessities, even leisure activities. Apart from all the activities in which internet is useful, the one I consider the most important is the education. Internet and, in fact, technology serves as a bridge to reach the knowledge from the spot we are standing in an easier way. Hence, as this article explains, Blended learning which is the type of academic formation presented in a program that mixes Internet-based media with traditional classroom methods. When this happens in a classroom, we can say that the lesson is totally oriented to 21st century students from 21st century teachers. Therefore, altough this is an action that is not easy to experience is state schools in Colombia, it is something that can be built for future generations in which the state can support education with technology in the way that I already explained.

Don't post about me on social media, children say

Don't post about me on social media, children say | Creative teaching and learning | Scoop.it

"The first babies of Facebook are now preteens, and they are not happy with the digital record of their lives created by their parents ..."

Tanner Saur's curator insight, March 14, 2016 11:25 AM
So this article is basically discussing what your kids perspective of you posting things about them on social media. Study's from the University of Washington show that children agree with their parents in regards to not texting while driving, not using your phone when talking to someone (in most cases), but there was one difference in opinion. Children ages 10 to 17 generally stated that they do not want their parents to post about them on social media without asking them first. This is because they are aware of the social media carbon footprint that you will leave behind if you do this. More and more employers now are viewing social media posts of potential employees and judging them for the hiring process. Children this age are also very self conscious of themselves when you take a picture where they are sleeping for example, or when they are not ready. Studies are showing that this age is going to get lower and lower when children start to care about how their parents present them on social media, ESPECIALLY, without their permission. With social media and the internet in general becoming more and more popular to younger generations, soon everyone will be able to surf the web and access all types of search engines and sites.
