Eduardo Espinoza's curator insight, April 20, 2015 10:09 PM

In this web site you will find important information about models for teaching. For improving education it is necessary to use new methods. In this article some of them will be presented showing the way they work. SAMR model has as a main feature of evaluating and assessing technology used in the classroom. Also it includes the TPACK model and its main characteristics. Another model mentioned here is Maslow and this consists in the knowledge that the teacher has for addressing his students due to the students have different need at learning.

Bloggie's curator insight, April 23, 2015 1:17 AM

Technology integration in instruction requires much more than just digital literacy and technical knowledge. This means that to have the adequate tools and to know how they work, the job is all done, but a teacher needs to know how to adequate these to his students to give them a good content. An important step in the process of effective integration of technology in education is having a pedagogical approach supported by a theoretical framework to ground your technology practices inside the classroom. (Educational Technology and Mobile Leraning, 2014)

According to Abraham Maslow (1954) and his theory of hierarchy needs that teachers can use to address students learning needs… “An ideal way to assess lesson plans, courses and educational programs by asking them whether these needs are being met in their school or classroom, educators can assess how well they are applying Maslow’s hierarchy to their teaching practice". This theory is, obviously, already integrate it to the TPACK model, which is perfect, because if teachers wouldn´t know what students need, the implementing of the technology to the teaching and learning process, the TPACK model would be incomplete.

“We can have facts without thinking but we cannot have thinking without facts.”

John Dewey’s above quote is so important as we begin to address both the facts and thinking that abounds in our standards. For the past ten years it seems we have concentrated our efforts on the facts and have not spent enough time in the thinking.. or as I like to think “doing”.
