Mr. Pierce has become the "Mr. Supermarket" of post-Katrina New Orleans. A geat example of how someone outside an issue/industry can make a big shift in that industry with vision and a strong sense of purpose.
Much of our work in NOLA is on the food growing side, not retail per se. But without local markets, all this would be for naught.
