The above photo shows some of the first motorists to cross the new bridge atop the Sepulveda Pass this morning. The old bridge was demolished during Carmageddon I & II and the new bridge built ...

You don't want to know the price or person hours it took to replace this "Carmageddon"-inducing crossing spanning one of California's most heavily travelled coastal highways. But it is done and (amongst other assets) is now an improved wildlife crossing for animals to traverse this deathrap of a road. Nothing as grand as what our friends in Canada or Croatia have built, but in urbanizing Los Angeles, we will take whatever we can get!
