Waters off the NC coast are not safe for swimming or even wading due to Hurricane Florence runoff, says the NC Coastal Federation. You could get bacterial infections, hepatitis or skin rashes.

The North Carolina Coastal Federation states that coastal waters are not suitable for swimming. There is more than likely an increase in receiving a bacterial infection from the coastal waters due to the runoff from the hurricane.

The Coastal Commission voted Thursday to order a Laguna Beach couple to pay $1 million and tear down a seawall that is protecting a multi-million home. The seawall is illegal, officials say, and causes the public beach in front of the home to disappear. The homeowners say the law is on their side.
