I was just reading about this the other day. Apparently you can get round trip flights from NY to Florida at around $50-100. Can't say I'm very surprised a lot of people are taking the offer after the past year of "No new normal" radicals.

Michael may end up causing similar or worse damage along the Florida Panhandle when compared to 1995's Opal and 1975's Eloise.

Florida is dealing with one of the worst magnitudes of hurricanes it ever has before. The state has never experienced a hurricane of this magnitude, a category 4. It is the first hurricane in history to  make landfall over the Big Bend area of Florida's coast.

The Town of Jupiter is starting to make moves on a plan impacting life on the water for decades to come.

This is a great example of communities and governments recognizing climate change as a real issue whose effects need to be planned for. This area of Florida is expanding their building codes to account for a 1.5 ft sea-level rise while neighboring cities require only 1 ft. It also highlights the necessity for coastal management plans to be ever-adapting to changing conditions.
