Wow! How much fallacious reasoning can we cram into our arguments at one time? This is at least an example of the fallacy of blind loyalty and the fallacy of special pleading, and a desperate push for the fallacy of the Pollyanna Principle (aka "they're just like us"). From folks who actively destroyed public resources because they felt like they should be able to do this.
