Right off the bat, this sounds like a great idea to reduce US dependence on imported seafood and create a new industry. However, I disagree with the argument that this industry will not create very many jobs. I believe it could potentially not create many jobs at a single offshore fish farm but with the creation of a new industry, demand for other services increases. This increase can be potentially seen in services such as materials to build the floating farms, employing people to harvest the fish, and it will generate government revenue from regulations and permits. But there are aspects to this industry that I am unfamiliar with and need to investigate further. But overall, I think this could create jobs indirectly.
