Japan To Release Radioactive Fukushima Water Into Ocean

Japan's new Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga is to dump over 1.2 million tons of radioactive Fukushima water into the ocean as a way to reduce the costs of the $200 billion nuclear plant clean up. There has already been international outrage at the plans, and local fishermen look set to protest.

Wow, this seems like an incredible poor decision for the ecosystem around Japan and even countries near the site of release. The UN suggested a strong opinion to not release the radioactive water due to contaminants drifting to other parts of the world but Japan seems to show no concern.
