Zaragoza, 22 March 2024.- CIHEAM Zaragoza has invited a panel of experts to participate in the webinar to celebrate the World Water Day (22 March). Consensus among the participants is clear: investing in human capital and developing water management skills are crucial strategies to combat water scarcity in Mediterranean regions, which are particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

The ‘OLIB’ Project, financed by the Provincial Council of Zaragoza, will be working with a local women’s cooperative to enhance theoretical and practical knowledge in olive growing and oil technologies
Through this project, CIHEAM Zaragoza will continue in its commitment to empower rural women to work towards sustainable development and peace in the Mediterranean

The “CIHEAM Zaragoza-Campus Aula Dei Lecture Series”, commences with a talk by José Miguel Carot Sierra, professor at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, who will provide practical insights on how to design and implement indicator systems. The lecture will use real examples drawn from the scientific and academic community.

CIHEAM Zaragoza and the International Olive Council (IOC) organize a course to address the efficient use of water in olive growing, adopt recommended management strategies to prevent water losses in the field, and introduce innovative technologies to optimize the use of water and other resource."
