I selected this article from Curatti written by Susan Gilbert because it provides information on how to increase engagement on social media.

In order to stay ahead of the competition it's important to effectively reach your target market.

Drive Up Your Social Media Sales

As you grow your audience on social media you will want to build trusted relationships with them. I agree that in order to attract new customers you need to focus on approaching your audience in an authentic way.

Gilbert explains how to best approach your social media marketing in a non-sales way.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Engage on Facebook -- especially in groups. This is still one the top places to build your brand and a community. Once you establish relationships there you can lead them to your Page.

  • On Twitter take advantage of trending hashtags and engage in live chats and contests. There is still a viable audience who is interested in what your brand has to offer there.

  • Get active with mobile marketing and start posting and engaging. Include SMS text messaging or push notifications as a part of this strategy.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Jenn Herman because it provides insights into how to better grow your Instagram community with the right followers.

It's important to attract the right followers for your target market to authentically grow your reach on Instagram.

How to Have a Quality Following on Instagram

It's tempting to look more at the number of followers rather than how they are actually benefitting your brand. I agree that you can improve your mobile strategy by attracting the right people.

Herman explains how to best grow your profile with the right connections.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Use specific hashtags for events and conferences in your niche. Go through these posts and 'like' them throughout the day.

  • Check out the competition and influencers to see who they are following. If the accounts relate to your business then follow these and engage on their posts.

  • Ask your community to tag their friends in your posts. Don't do this all of the time, but rather mix it into your mobile marketing strategy.

  • Use organic search methods to attract website traffic. Include a set of words and phrases that reflect your brand -- known as semantic core.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Tony Zambito because it provides insights on how digital and online information has transformed content marketing.

The idea of strategizing content has diminished over the last few years due to mobile and technology trends.

Why Context is More Important Than Content

Content should be tailored for your audience and what makes sense to them specifically. I agree that you can reach more people by reducing the amount of information being presented to them.

Zambito explains the basics of context in how it relates to today's online consumer.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • In order to be effective marketers need to understand the method of a connected series of stories. These should involve goal-directed behaviors and activities of buyers.

  • When it comes to effectively using context timing is critical. It's about what buyers are experiencing over time rather than a specific trigger.

  • Understanding the goals of your audience will help you move toward context. Not doing so can lead to content marketing failure.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Creating audio content is just the beginning. You also need to know how to execute a good marketing strategy to get the word out.

  • Consumers who get their content on the go are the most popular target market for audio. You should include this in at least 10 percent of your marketing budget.

  • The best method is to use 15-20 hashtags per post and then focus on the 4-5 popular ones. These need to be related to your posts, and have a high number of usage.

Instagram tips on hashtags
Vanessa Ong Li Wen's curator insight, March 19, 2017 10:39 AM

As a non-user of Instagram, I understand the attraction of the application and the use of hashtags to gather as many like as possible. However, I fail to understand the prevalence of such a technology in our world today. An article on how to use hashtags as effectively as possible? When did it become a necessity for us to write about getting as many likes and affirmation as possible? If I were to use Instagram, I would treat hashtags as a way to simply and deconstruct the message that my photo was trying to convey. For example, if I were to post a photo of an art piece, instead of writing a detailed explanation of the piece which most would not want to read about, I would use hashtags to highlight whatever it is I wish to express to my followers. While I understand that Instagram may be attractive because it lets us in on our friends’ lives and serves as a platform for us to receive affirmation from our peers, I do not think we should rely on Instagram so heavily to the extent that we write articles on how to make our posts more popular and well received. We should make use of this application to share our photos and activities with our friends, as well as show appreciation to others through this platform.

Via janlgordon
janlgordon's curator insight, March 14, 2017 1:51 AM

I selected this article from Curatti written by Ian Naylor because it explains how to develop a strong social media strategy that works for your business.

It's important to build solid objectives in order to be successful in social media marketing.

Common Social Media Mistakes

While you can create a social media account and begin tweeting or posting this will not guarantee solid growth. I agree that it takes focus and dedication to get real results.

Naylor explains what to avoid and how to properly grow your social brand.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Avoid spreading yourself too thin on too many networks. Focus on one and then move up from there. It takes time and dedication to develop your community.

  • Include the human touch in your accounts rather than just relying on automation or standard content. When people see the same messages they become bored quickly and move on.

  • It's important to include video as a part of your marketing strategy. People are especially drawn to this medium -- especially live stream broadcasts.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Nazareth Qarbozian because it provides insights on the future of social media marketing.

The world of technology is changing the way we strategize our marketing

How Social Media Will Change This Year and Beyond

Mobile technology and social media have both transformed the way we do business online. In this exclusive interview I cover what's in store for marketers.

Qarbozian asks about how companies will handle these new changes and what automation looks like today.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • While video is growing in importance content is still a vital component to building trust. It's best to focus on the pressing needs of your customers.

  • The days of automation and impersonal communication have now passed. Messages are now more tailored and customized for the audience.

  • As you stay on top of the latest trends and technology add influencers to that list. For example, Gen Z is a demographic growing in importance.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Avinash Nair
because it provides the latest information to bring your website up to date.

Three ways you can improve your website design

Top Reasons to Update a Website

Every second a new website is born on the Internet. I agree that knowing what needs to be fixed is the first step to rebuilding a presence that your visitors will love.

Nair goes over the what to look for when assessing your business's most important online real estate.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • If your traffic is declining this could be due to an outdated design. If it was created years ago it can appear to be sloppy and won't get the attention it deserves.

  • We are well into the mobile purchase age, and this means all websites should be responsive or fall behind. It's important to be recognized on all devices.

  • The general rule of thumb is for a website to load in two seconds or less. Anything longer than this can turn a visitor away quickly. One of the top culprits are images that are not optimized properly.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Jacob Smart because he explains how your website needs to be prepared for a mobile-first digital market.

Businesses need to understand the elements of mobile friendly and mobile SEO in order to be successful.

How to Understand Mobile Purchasing Methods

Your business can achieve improved conversion rates with the application of best practices for mobile usage. I agree that knowing how this is done today can help you get seen.

Smart explains how to maximize your website for better results.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • A mobile-friendly website means the user's journey is both smooth and efficient. This includes having a responsive design and content that is easily viewable on all platforms.

  • A mobile-seo website goes beyond a responsive design, and includes search engine optimization for higher visibility in search. This involves keyword usage, a mobile sitemap, mobile indexing, and more.

  • Making sure your website readily adapts to any device is important to both mobile-friendly and mobile-seo. Not only should it be responsive, but should also be set up as a dynamic URL with different code for mobile devices.

Visibility is still an important factor in developing a marketing strategy.

How customers see your business impacts your visibility online. I agree that in order to garner their attention in this next year you need find out what they are looking for in a brand, and why.

  • Executives must be data-driven in order to effectively engage and measure their campaigns. Technology will continue to be a necessary component.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Shelly Kramer because it explains the growing influence of Generation Z digital consumers.

By understanding the habits of teens and tech your business can better reach them.

Improve Your Brand Influence With Generation Z

In the information age it's important to understand the younger generation on their level in order to be successful in reaching them. I agree that your business can learn a lot about their buying and shopping behavior as you discover the latest trends.

Kramer explains what the future holds for teens and technology.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • The Generation Z demographic includes teens ages 13 to 19. They are growing up in an age of technology far more than their parents and grandparents.

  • Teens typically get smartphones early in their lives and spend an average of six hours a day on their devices. Most of these encompass the iPhone.

  • Online shopping is increasingly popular among the younger generation. Most of this is for clothing through mobile apps.
