Audio content is growing! If you are thinking of embarking on your own audio content project, you need to read this article by Shell

janlgordon's curator insight, June 9, 2017 12:09 AM

I selected this article from Curatti written by Shelly Kramer because it provides insights into the power of audio for your content marketing strategy.

Attract a larger audience with audio content.

Why Your Business Needs Audio Content

Both podcasts and live audio through Facebook are on the rise. I agree that you need to include this medium in order to take your marketing to the next level.

Kramer explains the impact of audio content on your business marketing reach.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Creating audio content is just the beginning. You also need to know how to execute a good marketing strategy to get the word out.

  • Consumers who get their content on the go are the most popular target market for audio. You should include this in at least 10 percent of your marketing budget.

  • It's very cost effective to use audio over video. This does not mean, however; that you should slack on the quality of the broadcast.

The right way to approach your audience is through high-quality content, not high quantity.

Correct Misguided Thinking for Your Content Strategy

The current thought is to put as much content as possible in front of your readers in order to grow online. I agree that we can lose focus on the quality of the articles by doing this.

Zambito explains the different misconceptions related to content planning and marketing.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Organizations have taken their eyes off of what is taking place in the digital world. The customer experience can get missed when we do not pay attention to this.

  • The customer journey is not the same as the content journey. Businesses need to focus on the interactions and experiences instead.

  • As content producers we need to move away from a broadcasting mentality. This includes how we personalize what we write.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Alice Elliott because she explains how to write a blog post that is more readable.

Attract more readers with content that it suitable to them.

How to Create an Attractive Post

It's great to have a strong number of subscribers -- but you need strong content to go along with that. I agree that your audience needs to be both educated and entertained in order to capture their attention.

Elliott explains how to improve your articles and write the perfect post.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • The quality of your writing needs to be the best that it can be. You need to write what your audience wants to read in order to retain them.

  • Make your blog posts conversational style. Show your own personality in an authentic way to attract more readers. Include your own anecdotes and stories to keep their interest.

  • A good post contains value and is useful to the reader. Write something that can make a real difference in their lives.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Joan Selby because it provides insights into how to effectively create quality content your audience will love.

Fuel your marketing efforts with fresh, original content.

Many marketers publish articles in order to boost their visibility online. I agree that you need to have a plan in place that will take your marketing to the next level.

Selby explains the impact of great content on your business growth.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Transform your old content into new blog posts. For example, create a video how-to guide or promote a series of posts in an eBook.

  • Avoid stepping over the line of recreating articles and plagiarism. Use tools like Feedly to help find ideas and repurpose what you already have.

  • Be selective when it comes to using user-generated content. This is where the comments section on your blog can be helpful in encouraging feedback.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Shelly Kramer because it provides insight into how to effectively use long form content to capture more readers.

Why long form content is well received by your audience.

Long Form Content Success Strategies

Most readers prefer digestible, longer content. I agree that you need to write it in a way that adds value to your community.

Kramer explains the impact of long form content on your blog.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Search engines tend to rank long form content higher than short form. The more words you have the more opportunity to add relevant keywords.

  • Longer content can set you apart from the competition. Especially as you focus more on quality than quantity. This places your business ahead of the game.

  • It may take more time to read a lengthy article -- but generally this will be well received by readers. It is well worth the time and investment to write long form content.
