The new Canon C500 is just hitting the streets, offering both internal 50 Mbps 422 recording, as well even higher quality outputs. The camera can output HD & 2K in 4:2:2 up to 120p, or 4:4:4 up to 60p, and uncompressed 4K Raw data up to 60p and 120p at half vertical resolution. This Canon Raw data can be recorded using an external recorder like the Codex S or Convergent Design Gemini 4:4:4. However, Canon Raw is unlike any Raw format that we’ve seen before. Canon has a very unique Raw method that deserves some explaining, but first – what is it?

Another sub $10,000 2K camera enters the market. One thing is certain, the price of 2K and 4K cameras are dropping like a rock every time a new camera enters into the market.

Blackmagic says that with over 30 companies developing CinemaDNG in open source, Adobe's decision to drop support has no effect on them.

And now, Blackmagic has given us an official reply that with over 30 companies working on the open source codec, Adobe’s decision won’t affect BMCC users one bit.
