Gabon’s government has made efforts to combat poaching, but as the price of ivory soars its elephants are being slaughtered.

The consequences of the soaring price of ivory are affecting longtime wildlife champion Gabon, where 10,000 elephants have been slaughtered over the past several years by criminals and poor hunters. "It is a story of temptation -- and exploitation -- and it shows that the problem is not just about demand, but about supply as well.
