The Belize Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship has been moved to Saturday, October 14th, and will still be held in Cayo at the CNRRC at Galvez stadium. You can register at https://form.123formbuilder.com/6483063/belize-bjj-gi-tournament

Belize Excels at North American Regional Powerlifting Championships

Congratulations, Team Belize on such a great showing at the North American Regional Powerlifting Championships. That's a lot of medals and accomplishments. Well done.

'Rhea Tsai (15 year old) -1st 1st place for squat, bench & deadlift in the female Sub-junior category, 57 kg weight class.

Kaelie Burgess, (14 year old) - 2nd place (for her total overall lifts) plus 2nd place for squat, 2nd place for bench, and 1st place for deadlift in the Sun-Junior division in the 52kg weight class

Aurayanna Shepherd (15 year old) - 3rd place (for total overall lifts), plus 3rd place bench, and 3rd place for deadlift as a sub-Junior and competed in the 63kg weight class

Shakira Oxley-Tsai - 2nd place (total overall lifts), plus 2nd place squat, 2nd place bench, and 2nd place deadlift in the Master 1 division (40 to 49 year old) in the 52kg weight class

Leo Matura - 3rd place for bench in the Open Division (24 to 39 year olds) in the 74kg weight class'

Belize U-18 Female Volleyball Team Takes 4th Place

The Belize U-18 Female Volleyball team came in 4th place at the Central American Championship in Guatemala this week. Kevanna Sebastian was one of the top scorers, and the top blocker for the tournament. There are hundreds of pictures from the event, along with scores and statistics, on the AFECAVOL website.

SHC Championship Ceremony

Sacred Heart College had their first banner ceremony in their new auditorium. The males won the NSSSA championship, and the females won the CSSAC championship. They also got to celebrate Mr. Karim Juan's birthday at the same time. Happy birthdy, Karim, and congratulations, SHC!

In related news, there won't be any classes on Friday due to the BNTU rally here in Cayo.

Belize at Female Junior CA Championship

The Belize Female Junior volleyball team is doing superbly in Honduras at the Female U20 Central American Championship. They are 2 and 0, having beaten Honduras and El Salvador. They play Nicaragua this evening, then get a rest day, and play the other 3 C.A. teams this week. Keep on going strong!

"The Belize Female Junior National Volleyball Team wins again. They are now 2 and 0 in the tournament. The beat El Salvador 3 sets to 1, 25-18, 25-18, 21-25, 25-23. Top scorer was again Sherika Burton with 17 points (15 kills, 2 blocks). Jahshema Saunders had 13 points (12 kills, 1 ace), Maurissa Williams also contributed with 11 points (6 kills, 4 blocks, 1 ace), Leandra Betson had 6 points (4 kills, 1 block, 1 ace)."
