DADA-DATA celebrates 100 years of the Dada movement. It’s a viral, vibrant, living homage, connected to our times like DADA was at war with its own. Stroll through our Depot, an ever-changing anti-museum of major DADA works. And take part in the weekly Hacktions. Dada-Data is a digital project with a storm of interactive Dada events called “Dada Hacktions.” On the other hand, it will be an online anti-museum, the DADA-Depot.
Dada-Data est un hommage vivant, viral, fait de détournements, d’autodestruction, de dérision, et ancré dans notre époque, comme Dada était en guerre contre la sienne. Ce webdocumentaire propose une narration moderne, faite de collages, d’hyper-texte, de manifestes, de ReadyMades connectés.
Le projet World Brain, produit par Irreverence Films, propose de nous immerger dans les différentes formes de folklore de l'Internet. Sous forme d'un "film document" et d'un site internet interactif, World Brain suit les pérégrinations d'un groupe de chercheurs qui tente de survivre dans la forêt avec Wikipédia, propose une excursion au coeur de data centers etc.
World Brain décrit le réseau planétaire qui nous englobe et propose des outils théoriques pour le comprendre. Le site interactif se présente comme une base de ressources en ligne pour se repérer à l'interieur du cerveau mondial. Il est à la fois documentaire, fiction et manuel. Le film quant à lui est delinéarisé et réparti par séquences dans cet immense espace en ligne. Les deux auteurs de World Brain, Stéphane Degoutin et Gwenola Wagon, nous racontent leur vécu quant à la création d'une expérience hors du commun. Le jeudi 29 janvier 2015 World Brain est présenté en avant-première mondiale à la Transmediale de Berlin. C'est à cette occasion que sera diffusé le long métrage et que le site interactif fera ses premiers pas dans notre société connectée !

Créés de toute pièce ou adaptés de supports existants, ces reportages transmédias sortent d’une vision linéaire, permettant au public d’appréhender l’information de manière originale et immersive.

Un webdocumentaire de Julien Goetz et Jean-Marc Manach, produit par ARTE et Premières Lignes Télévision. Les internets c'est l'Internet moins les tuyaux. C'est vous, nous, c'est chaque utilisateur. Les “Internets”, c’est un néologisme popularisé par George W. Bush (encore lui) qui, en l’an 2000, avait déclaré qu'“on peut mettre des filtres sur les Internets”, avant de déplorer, en 2004, que l’on trouvait “beaucoup de rumeurs sur les Internets”. Et oui... L’expression est depuis utilisée pour railler ceux qui ne comprennent pas ce qu’est le Net ni comment il fonctionne. Mais les internets, c’est vous, c’est nous, c’est aussi et surtout ce que l’on fait, crée, remixe et partage sur les réseaux. Les internets, c’est l’Internet moins les tuyaux. C'est donc à cette première brique du réseau, les gens, d'écrire cette contre-histoire qui leur appartient, à nous. Pendant 6 semaines, toutes celles et ceux qui le souhaitent, pourrons partager ici souvenirs, histoires et questions. Et nous les premiers. Nous diffuserons, au fil de ces presque-deux-mois, une soixantaine de capsules vidéos, longues #oupas, drôles #oupas, en tout cas toujours questionnant notre rapport à ces internets qui parviennent si souvent à se moquer des puissants, et à leur résister. Chaque semaine, une nouvelle thématique sera ouverte. On y parlera de “pédo-nazis”, de bidouille ou encore de “Wow”. On y retrouvera le web de 1995 et pourquoi pas d’anciens “pseudos” cotoyés sur les forums des années 2000. L’objectif : raconter ce pour quoi, et comment, les internets ont changé nos vies, recenser ce qu’on n’a pas eu le droit d’y faire, ce qu’on a inventé pour le faire quand même, et ainsi participer collectivement à l’élaboration d’une “contre-histoire des internets”, qui se veut libre, ouverte et partagée.

Defining documentary has never been easy, all the more because of different cultural traditions. The English-speaking world often looks back to the British documentarian John Grierson’s definition of the form as ‘the creative treatment of actuality’ -- a useful phrase that he first used to describe Robert Flaherty’s Moana, but one that inadvertently wedded the documentary project to the linear narrative. Other cultures have used other descriptors, embracing radically different types of filmmaking in their understanding of the documentary. Today's interactive documentaries compel us to revisit our assumptions. We take an expansive view of documentary, and are above all interested in the pas de deux between representation and technology, and the resulting capacity to see the world with new eyes. We are interested in history, in connecting the dots between our latest endeavors and those conceptual pioneers and technological prototypes that came before them. We consider innovation both in the creative application of new technologies and in the creative impulse that lead documentarians to invent new technologies. We are interested in continuities and disruptions, in tracking down origins and inspirations. Although our theme is evolutionary, we do not assume that recent instances are better than earlier ones – they are different, and our goal is to recall those earlier instances, to learn from and to celebrate them. For these reasons, MIT’s Open Documentary Lab and IDFA’s DocLab have joined together to put the long story of documentary innovation into perspective, and to speculate about its future.
The 18 minute "Connecting" documentary is an exploration of the future of Interaction Design and User Experience from some of the industry's thought leaders. As the role of software is catapulting forward, Interaction Design is seen to be not only increasing in importance dramatically, but also expected to play a leading role in shaping the coming "Internet of things." Ultimately, when the digital and physical worlds become one, humans along with technology are potentially on the path to becoming a "super organism" capable of influencing and enabling a broad spectrum of new behaviors in the world.

Millenium Web Meetings is the must-go meeting-point for fans of new technologies and new communication means. Its growing success during the Millenium festival made us decide to organise an edition specifically dedicated to a new genre of storytelling from 1 – 5 December 2016.
Not only is the Millenium Web Meetings an excellent opportunity to try-out this original genre of storytelling, it is also a great chance for making contacts in the field of interactive web-creations. We encourage creative encounters, which is the reason that we invite participants, professionals and amateurs to participate in our events! In short, it is the occasion to push an emerging, incredibly exciting genre forward with the goal of giving a helping hand in its diffusion. As part of the Millenium Web Meetings, David Dufresne will give a master class on Monday 5th of December. As creator of "Fort McMoney" and his latest project DADA-DATA, David Dufresne has collaborated with the Millenium Web Meetings various times in the past years. The master class is the opportunity for fans of new technologies to learn from the forerunner in this genre. The master class will be followed by the announcement of the winning Cross-Over Lab teams and a drink to celebrate the end of the event.

In the past, visual arts and music required both intellectual and physical skills, but in the present, computer programming permits people to make art just by using their minds. Moleman 2 presents a subculture of digital artists working with both new and old computing technology who push their machines to their limits.
Antarctica, the only uninhabited continent, belongs to no single country and has no government. While certain countries lay claim to portions of the landmass, it is the only solid land on the planet with no unified national affiliation. Drawing on the continent’s rich history of inspiring exploration and artistic endeavors, Paul D. Miller a.k.a. DJ Spooky has put together his own multimedia, multidisciplinary study of Antarctica. Book of Ice is one aspect of this ongoing project.
In light of climate change and tireless human enterprise to be present everywhere on the planet, Miller uses Antarctica as a point on entry for contemplating humanity’s relationship with the natural world. The two additional contributors to The Book Of Ice - Columbia University's Brian Greene, best selling author of The Elegant Universe, and Ross A. Virginia, Director of Arctic Studies at Dartmouth College, a world renowned expert on Antarctica - add several layers of analysis to the books exploration of the theme of science and graphic design.
Using photographs and film stills from his journey to the bottom of the world, along with original artworks and re-appropriated archival materials, Miller ponders how Antarctica could liberate itself from the rest of the world. Part fictional manifesto, part history and part science book, Book of Ice furthers Miller’s reputation as an innovative artist capable of making the old look new.
