On le sait, l’information de nos jours court plus vite que le temps qu’on a pour la lire. Les rédactions se sont complètement informatisées et connectées de l’écriture à la publication. Ce qui permet évidemment beaucoup de choses: autant d’offrir un article à ses lecteurs dès qu’il est écrit, que de pouvoir le corriger ou de le compléter alors qu’il est déjà publié. Cela arrive aussi parfois que des articles soient même supprimés, comme l’a repéré la RTBF avec cette intox sur un adolescente qui aurait attaqué ses parents en justice à cause de photos publiées sur Facebook.

Urtica, an art and media research group, specialises in the development of transdisciplinary projects that merge art, media, social science, and education. The group was founded in 1999 by Violeta Vojvodić and Eduard BalaĹľ. In their work they combine traditional artistic disciplines and ICT. Urtica’s production ranges from Internet based artworks and media actions to art objects and installations. Special focus is put on educational projects such as workshops and web applications.
Urtica was awarded the UNESCO Digital Arts Award at IAMAS Japan in 2003, and participated at numerous international festivals and exhibitions such as Ars Electronica (Linz, Austria), FILE (Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Ogaki Biennial 2004 (IAMAS, Ogaki, Japan), Hilchot Shchenim The Israeli Center for Digital Art (Holon, Israel), “Moirés” at Kunstraum der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg (Germany), among others. Old security monitors display live webcam footage of intersections in different countries. A counter at the bottom of the screen shows how much the fines are for the offense, depending on the country where it’s being committed.

The Social Innovation Tournament is the flagship initiative of the Institute’s Social Programme. It is organised every year in a different country to reward and sponsor European entrepreneurs whose primary purpose is to generate a social, ethical or environmental impact.
Four prizes are awarded by a jury, composed of specialists from the academic and business world: General Category and Special Category 1st and 2nd Prizes of EUR 50 000 and EUR 20 000 respectively. For decades, futurists and science fiction writers predicted that smart machines would someday rival the intelligence of humans. Now, their forecasts seem to be coming true. Artificial intelligence, or AI, already exceeds human capability in certain fields. Machines can send and receive signals and analyze vast quantities of data faster than humans. They have learned to drive cars, manage stock portfolios and, through personal assistants such as Siri and Alexa, talk to us. In the not-so-distant future, AI may even augment our own brain functions. But as with all revolutions, the potential of AI raises concerns. Among the biggest: Some worry that that its growing capability may trigger the largest labor displacement since the Great Depression. Zero Waste France agit pour réduire l’empreinte des déchets individuels et industriels, quels sont vos constats sur le lien entre modèle économique et réduction des déchets, certains modèles sont-ils plus vertueux que d’autres ?
Le premier constat à faire est que le modèle industriel dominant génère de plus en plus de déchets : de plus en plus d’emballage, des produits à la durée de vie de plus en plus courte, des ressources toujours plus exploitées. On parle d’économie linéaire.
Plus encore, on voit que certains mécanismes d’incitation sensés corriger cette situation ne sont pas efficaces ou même fonctionnent à l’envers. Par exemple, les opérateurs de traitement des déchets en France sont payés en fonction du tonnage traité. Plus ils traitent de tonnes, plus ils sont rémunérés. On a même vu des situations où certaines villes s’engageaient contractuellement à un certain volume et payaient des pénalités si ces volumes n’étaient pas constatés. Certains ont donc un intérêt direct à ce que les déchets soient de plus en plus nombreux.
The current techno-economic paradigm of Web 2.0 has challenged notions of art and hacktivism within digital culture. The book “Networked Disruption” takes up this challenge and discusses a new perspective on political and social criticism. It simultaneously asks what are the conditions for hacker and artistic practices under Web 2.0 and how can social networking be seen to build on and incorporate artistic practices from the earlier decades of digital and network culture.
Through its theoretical discussion of contemporary art and hacktivism, the book maps out a new contradictory space for art and criticism: Networked disruption.

Chorus is a data-driven art installation that translates Twitter reactions to current affairs into evocative typographic choreographies. Commissioned by the British Library for its major exhibition "Propaganda: Power and Persuasion”, the artwork examines how ideas and opinions spread via social networks, and their potential to influence public opinion.

In the timespan from the Sandy Hook Shootings to Obama’s state of the union address, we observe the shifts of opinions among the US pro- and anti-gun lobbies.
Forming the atmospheric closing piece of the exhibition, the installation provokes questions about propagandistic patterns in contemporary digital communication.
Depuis les grèves de novembre et décembre 1995 en France, les interventions de Pierre Bourdieu ont été l’objet de critiques, souvent violentes, notamment de la part des journalistes et des intellectuels médiatiques dont il avait analysé le rôle social. Ce qui semble les avoir choqués avant tout, c’est qu’un « savant » intervienne aussi activement dans le domaine « politique ». L’implication du sociologue dans l’espace public remonte néanmoins au début des années 1960, à propos de la guerre d’Algérie.
Désireux de « penser la politique sans penser politiquement », Pierre Bourdieu a cherché à démontrer que, loin de s’opposer, les sciences sociales et le militantisme peuvent constituer les deux faces d’un même travail, qu’analyser et critiquer la réalité sociale permettent de contribuer à sa transformation. Ce texte a été lu par son auteur lors d’une rencontre à Athènes, en mai 2001, avec des chercheurs et des syndicalistes sur des thèmes tels que l’Europe, la culture et le journalisme et figurera dans un livre à paraître au printemps, Interventions (1961-2001). Sciences sociales et action politique (Agone, Marseille)...
Le candidat recevra une allocation de résidence d’un montant de 1500 euros par mois toutes charges comprises. L’artiste disposera d’un budget de production d’un plafond maximum forfaitaire de 2 000 euros durant la résidence. La somme est versée sur présentation de facture au nom de l’association.
L’association est présente sur le quartier de Hautepierre de Strasbourg depuis 2009. Au travers de diverses actions artistiques et culturelles (ateliers artistiques, déploiements d’outils numériques, aménagements participatifs, résidence artistique, expositions…).
Horizome invite à l’échange et tente de révéler les dynamiques locales. L’association Ĺ“uvre à montrer et développer l’appropriation de la ville par ses habitants à travers le prise en compte des cultures, l’expression des créativités et les interactions entre les savoirs-faire (connaissances d’usages et historiques, savoirs-faire locaux, projets d’étudiants, démarches artistiques, recherche universitaire…).
Ainsi, nous privilégions une démarche transdisciplinaire qui mélange les arts, sciences sociales, l’architecture et l’urbanisme, en relation avec les habitants et d’autres associations du quartier. Notre champ d’action est réparti sous 3 axes:
Axe 1: Actions artistiques dans l’espace public (résidence artistique, Recherche, Festival)
Axe 2: Aménagements participatifs d’espaces publics et pouvoir d’agir (Aménageons la place Erasme, construction d’aménagement autour des jardins partagés).
Axe 3: Accompagnement d’initiatives locales dans les domaines créatifs et/ou numériques: Art et Métier (Atelier Populaire d’Urbanisme, Atelier radio, atelier autour du numérique dans le cadre du programme FIP).
Le projet PIQO à but non lucratif vise à concevoir et à commercialiser un ordinateur de bureau pour les administrations, associations, écoles ou entreprises à moins de 100 euro et produit en France.
Quand j'étais bien plus jeune, je me souviens de mon ahurissement en apprenant que l'émission "Le vrai journal" de Karl Zéro, diffusée à l'époque en clair sur Canal+ allait se voir l'obligation de faire figurer en sous-titre apparent de tous ses détournements et fausses interviews la mention "réalisé avec trucage".
Mon étonnement venait du fait qu'il s'agissait clairement d'une émission parodique, qu'elle affichait clairement son objectif de détournement, et que lesdits détournement, même s'ils étaient très habilement réalisés au vu des moyens techniques de l'époque, restaient en tout cas de mon point de vue parfaitement identifiables en tant que tel.
Je n'ai jamais compris si cette mention était là pour quelques esprits trop simples ou trop peu éduqués, ou s'il s'agissait d'un effet d'emballage destiné à s'éviter quelques procès médiatique au nom du droit à l'image et autres droit à la parodie.
Et puis vînt Nadine Morano. Et le Gorafi fût.
Alors commencèrent les faux-pas dont l'un des plus célèbres ne pouvait venir que du double neuronal de Nadine M, j'ai nommé Christine B., prenant pour authentique un article parodique du Gorafi et s'en gargarisant dans les médias. ....

A decade later in Presov, Slovakia, a solo viola performance by Lukas Kmit was interrupted by the ubiquitous Nokia ringtone. Kmit paused, casting a frustrated eye on the audience — toward the guilty party, presumably, who isn’t visible in this viral video of the event. But rather than stop his performance or abandon the stage, he played the ringtone back on his instrument, adding an improvisational touch and incorporating the moment into his concert in a spontaneous acknowledgement — despite the frustration and rudeness — of the human nature of live performance. ...

Musiques & Cultures Digitales - MCD s’est engagé à développer Hype(r)Olds - Gangs de seniors connectées, suite à la création de Tea Time with Albertine, atelier multimédia créé par Albertine Meunier à la Cantine à Paris, destiné aux femmes de plus de 77 ans. Un premier atelier a été produit à la Maison des Métallos, puis à la Gaité Lyrique, portés par les artistes Albertine Meunier et Julien Levesque.
Avec le soutien de la Mairie de Paris et d’Orange, MCD poursuit l’essaimage de ce format à Paris et en Région. 5 nouveaux ateliers sont soutenus à ce jour : A la Chartreuse de Villeneuve-lez-Avignon, dans le 10e arrondissement de Paris, au Centre Saint Exupéry de Reims, au Centre Bellegarde à Toulouse, avec Planète Emergences à Marseille.
En 2012-13, de nouveaux ateliers seront créés à Poitiers, à Valence et en Region Parisienne avec le soutien de la Région Ile-de-France.
