Landscape sound art, "Nature versus Synthetics" by Ronald Van Der Meijs,2008, Materials: welding, chrome bicycle bell caps | "The installation 'Nature' is a site specific composition from 5000 chrome bicycle bells that are swaying in the wind of the polder in a natural way, as a reed. Causing them to call each other in a rather subtle manner and cause a soft twinkling noise.

Yang Soo-in: Yobosayo

Yang Soo-in: Yobosayo | Art Installations, Sculpture, Contemporary Art | Scoop.it

Yang Soo-in: Yobosayo

An interactive sculpture called Yobosayo (Korean word used to call someone’s attention, like ‘hello’), a large, ear-shaped sculpture that records the opinions of passersby and relays it over speakers installed in the newly opened Seoul City Hall. The 8 feet tall sculpture has an installed microphone inside that records the messages and each message is then relayed through speakers located around the City Hall. Sensors on the suspended speakers detect how many officials have heard the messages and the amount of time people have spent in listening to the message. While the ones that attract the most attention stay in the playlist, the unpopular ones are transformed into music by an algorithm that amplifies and distorts their auditory characteristics.

This piece was inspired by a concept of a desert traveler’s fire, the night breeze stirring the glowing embers
into the air making them dance, and music carried on the wind.

Whisperers by Wela

Wela: "Whisperers", interactive audio installation, 2011, Copernicus Science Center, Discovery Park, Warsaw, Poland

Installation "The Whisperers" consists of 16 stainless steel columns put in the middle of the park of discovery. The columns are equipped with sensors and speakers in order to detect visitors and distribute natural sounds such as the whisper of a stream, rain, wind, volcano, etc. People can do real-time sound spatialization on the type of sound and played on the sound effects.
The visual and sound installation, compared to contemporary organs, symbolizes a virtual-real time in which we live and transports the viewer to the fourth more spiritual dimension.
The installation also shows the paradox of contemporary man desire to approach to nature by artificial means.
