Wrapped Trees by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Fondation Beyeler and Berower Park, Riehen, Switzerland 1997-98
Christo and Jeanne Claude have completed 20 projects, 39 proposals have been turned down. Some of these projects have taken many years. The Wrapped trees took 32 years for permission but were finally wrapped in the Fondation Beyeler.

Christo has unveiled the “largest indoor sculpture ever made”. The inflated, light-infused installation, “Big Air Package” has been designed to occupy a 117-meter-tall former gas tank known as Gasometer Oberhausen in Germany. The 90-meter-high, 50-meter-wide sculpture is made from 20,350 square meters of semitransparent polyester fabric and 4,500 meters of rope, with a total weight of 5.3 tons and a volume of 177,000 cubic meters. “Big Air Package” will remain on view from March 16 through December 2013

Christo's 'Over The River' project just took another step forward. On Tuesday, commissioners in Fremont County approved a permit for the fabric art project which proposes to hang 5.9 miles of aluminum coated fabric panels across a 42-mile stretch of the Arkansas River.

DENVER — Federal regulators on Monday approved a $50 million installation of anchored fabric over the Arkansas River in southern Colorado by the artist Christo, whose larger-than-life vision has divided environmentalists, residents and politicians for years over questions of aesthetics, nature and economic impact. The project, “Over the River,” will include eight suspended panel segments totaling 5.9 miles along a 42-mile stretch of the river, about three hours southwest of Denver. Construction could begin next year, pending final local approvals, with the goal being a two-week display of the work as early as August 2014.
