Hay muchas herramientas que podemos usar para grabar screencasts, y screencastify es una de las más prácticas y sencillas.

Se trata de un plugin de Chrome que nació hace ya varios meses con la opción de grabar lo que vemos en la pestaña del navegador, aunque ahora han aumentado las posibilidades para permitir grabar también el escritorio y la webcam.

Ideal para crear vídeos con tutoriales de lo que hacemos, y permitir que aparezcan imágenes de la webcam al mismo tiempo, no depende de ningún otro plugin (ni de java, ni de flash), y puede usarse en cualquier plataforma que ejecute Chrome (Linux, Windows, OS X) o ChromeOS (Chromebooks y Chromeboxes).

A screencast is a digital recording of a computer screen with audio narration. Screencasts can include telestrator (‘John Madden pen’) annotations. Narrated slideshows include audio recordings synchronized to images without hand-drawn annotations.

Screencasts and narrated slideshows can be created with two kinds of tools:

1. Browser-based: Create an account on the website and use a modern web browser like Google Chrome or FireFox to record, save and share it.

2. Client-based: Download and install software on a computing device to record and save.

This looks like it would be something that could be really handy for prodjects for class. that way we could not only have all of the information in front of us to see, but also hear whats going on as well.

Easy Screen Recorder es un software gratuito para el sistema operativo Windows, compatible con las últimas versiones de esta plataforma, que nos va a resultar muy útil para grabar la actividad que realizamos en pantalla, lo que se conoce como capturar un screencast.

Estas herramientas resultan muy prácticas para crear tutoriales en vídeo, por ejemplo para mostrar como se instala una aplicación, como se utiliza un programa determinado o que pasos hay que seguir para configurar alguna característica.

This appears to be a simple screen capture / video output tool.  Might be something that could be shared with SMEs to help them create content quickly and easily.  Of course, as IDs, we still need to help them organize their content!
