Though we doubt it wanted to give you Nokia spy software but that we’ll have to wait to find out more of. Nokia’s new mobile; Nokia Asha 303 is a reasonably priced mobile phone, quite different from the new luxurious and pricey smart-phones available in the market. Nokia Asha 303 is aimed for the youth and for people who don’t believe in paying too much for cell-phones but still want a lot of features in it.
Nokia Asha comes in six different colors; the most famous being red and then graphite, silver white, aqua, green and purple. With the colors available it can be seen that the phone is aimed for the youth; colors and spunk that’s Nokia’s idea of targeting their segment.   Looking at the exterior, the Nokia Asha 303 is a combination of both touch-screen and manual keyboards. Not sure whether they kept the concept of keystroke loggers when doing this but touch-phobic will be more than happy to have it. The dimensions being 116.5 x55.7 x 13.9mm, and the weight being 99 grams gives the phone a very light and small physique that’s easy to carry. Unlike Asha 303’s other major competitors the Nokia Asha is not bulky and the exterior is quite strong.
Nokia Asha 303 has a 2.6 inch TFT capacitive touch screen that portrays up to 256K colors. Considering Nokia recently launched the Lumia 800, Nokia Asha 303 could also have gotten uplift in terms of touch screen, pixels and colors but then again Nokia had to cut costs to make this phone affordable.   The extra keyboard option was not one of Nokia’s best choices to make regarding this phone. People with large fingers might have problem fiddling with the little keys to type and they also have an airy bubble texture which make typing not the best of experiences for the user. Apart from this, the Asha 303 is piled up with lots of data jackets and connectivity ports all around it making its exterior seem piled up and crimpy.   In terms of internal processing, Nokia has used its own Symbian OS to function the Asha 303 and has used a 1 GHz CPU for processes. Considering this, the Nokia Asha 303 might lag in performance and not be as efficient and quick as expected to be. The Internal memory is only of 170 MB from which 100 MB is available to the user for internal storage. 256 MB is allocated to the ROM and 128 MB to the RAM. The benefit of the Nokia Asha 303 is the option of a media SD card without which it would be impossible for users to store their data content in the phone. Coming out of the external and internal specifications, we look at Nokia Asha 303’s other features. The phone works easily on both 2G and 3G Networks and also enables GPRS, EDGE, WLAN, Bluetooth and USB connectivity hence data transfer and communication between external devices and Nokia Asha 303 isn't a very difficult job.   Apart from this, Nokia Asha 303 comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera with fixed focus and face detection as photo capturing options. Considering all other phones that are coming out is at least 5 Megapixel or higher, the Asha 303 falls behind in terms of camera specs.   Nokia is always known for its battery time and the Asha 303 is no different. It has a stand by time up to 720 hours on 2G and 840 hours on 3G. Nokia Asha also comes with pre-installed Angry Birds Lite, Facebook and Whatsapp applications.
Altogether the phone isn't a win-win; it has key features but then lags behind in terms of processing, efficiency and its design. Security doesn't seem so savvy either.
