Maintenance is a generic term for a variety of tasks carried out in all sectors and all kinds of working environments. Corrective as well as preventive maintenance, is a typical ancillary activity that enterprises outsource by contracting external service providers. Depending on the work environment and activity performed, maintenance workers are exposed to a variety of hazards and risk factors. Some of these risk factors affect the health of workers mainly in the long term, while others are the cause of work accidents.
