KINGMAN – The Wellness Initiative for Senior Education is starting a six-week program for healthy living at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Mohave County Library, 3269 Burbank St.
This free program from Western Arizona Council of Governments is designed to help senior adults celebrate healthy aging, make healthy lifestyle choices and avoid substance abuse.
It provides valuable information on topics such as medication misuse and management, stress management, depression and substance abuse.

Roadwork to restrict travel in Bullhead City
BULLHEAD CITY – Roadway maintenance will restrict travel on U.S. Highway 95 starting Monday evening from the south end of Bullhead Parkway to Miracle Mile Road, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced.
The road will be narrowed to one lane at night while the maintenance work is being done. Work hours are 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Sundays through Wednesdays.
The project is scheduled to begin in the overnight hours Monday and continue through mid-February.
Motorists are advised to be prepared for brief delays and proceed through the work zone with caution. Slow down and watch for construction workers and equipment.

KRMC Foundation launching Black Tie Gala event
KINGMAN – The Kingman Regional Medical Center Foundation is launching a new event, the Black Tie Gala, to be held March 10 at the Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin.
Proceeds from the gala will benefit the hospital’s labor and delivery unit, which plans to have an educational program about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, or SIDS.
Staff also hopes to replace the bassinets in the OB nursery, as the units currently in use are over 25 years old.
The Black Tie Gala will include a three-course dinner, dancing, drinks, photos and entertainment. It starts at 5:30 p.m.
Sponsors will provide premium auction and raffle items. To ensure the quality of this event, KRMC Foundation will limit the number of available tickets.
The foundation is dedicated to giving a healthy start to newborns and families in our community. Funds raised will support the development and implementation of the Infant Sleep Education and SIDS Prevention program and the purchase of new bassinets.
