The Learning Festival 2014, jointly organized by the World Innovation Summit for Education – WISE and Katara, shares some of the latest developments in learning and education. This year, the Learning Festival offers creative takes on the use of technology in education. Through a major photo exhibition and a series of demos, workshops and performances by leaders of the maker movement, the festival offers a world state of play of the uses of technology in the classroom, and showcases how the makers explore simple analog and digital resources to enhance creativity.

The central area of the festival is dedicated to the Maker movement, featuring interactive demos and installations of some the latest creative maker projects such as LittleBits, Makey Makey, 3d printing, Paper Electronics, Arduino-based DYI kits, among many others. Opened from 5 pm to 10pm from Tuesdays to Saturdays, the central zone will be animated by performances, debates and other pop- up events by the invited makers and local creative community.
