Nestled within the expansive landscape of SL Norway, New Deer Isle Motel is another creative project from Kaiden and Pandora Tray, better known for the NYC-themed Wandering New York. Unlike much of the clutter you see on the mainland, New Deer Isle offers a meticulously planned and themed coastal town experience, reminiscent of a small New England retreat. Click on the photo for photo for the full blog by The SL Hotel Inspector - which includes much more information and the SLurl - Note staying in the Motel requires payment.

The Second Life Railroad network is one of the major features of Second Life mainland - notably Heterocera - with lines also to be found on south and east Sansar and on Bellisseria, with number smaller (and private) lines also to be found across Second Life (such as the system in Second Norway). Much as…

On Friday, 20 April, regular weekly movie nights moved back to Odie on the mainland continent of Nautilus. With the nice, warm weather outside, I thought it would be a good change, after months of weekly gatherings in the basement of my castle in Second Norway. The new build has a nice, outdoorsy feel to it. Its size is just about right for our small group or regulars, and there's room for drinks and snacks.

There are some sim builders who just get it right. I’m always impressed by realism in SL, and Baileys Norge has it in spades
I only had a short time to take these photos, so I cammed rather than walked to the locations. I will certainly be going back for a closer look in the coming days.

Over the last week I made many changes to Refugium, my island in Second Norway. This time it was not just the usual reshuffle of furniture... There are whole new builds and features, and the place has taken a darker, Gothic feel to it. The landing point is close to the dock. From there you can walk towards the castle, or into the forest.

As I've been doing some research on constructed languages lately, I was wondering if there was an Esperanto community in Second Life. And sure enough, not only is there a community, with social activities, courses and an inworld group, but their centre - Esperanto-Lando - is just north to my home in Second Norway, in Heim. It's a small world!

After the relocation and the latest round of changes, here are the latest snapshots from Refugium, a small meditation center I run in Second Life. Refugium is now found on a small island in East Fjord Grieg, Second Norway, where I also have my home. The current meetinghouse also serves as my office space, where I often sit and work while I'm blogging or listening to music in first life.

Okay, today I'm giving up my winter blockade early because a region was converted that I just can't resist. On November 21st the winter season started on "Luane's World" . Owner Luane (luanemeo) announced this with this photo on Flickr.

I begin my coverage of 2018 Holiday Season Winter Photography at Summer Falls located located at the Hrodas Fen Homestead Region. Although the architecture at Elyjia Baxton's and Brayan Friller's had a North American feel, I was reminded of the fjords of Norway on my recent visit. The interplay of blue light and rolling coastal mist rolling into mountain-lined waterways makes this destination a true work of art.

Right next to the landing point is a board of orientation with all points of interest. That’s very convenient. Baileys Norge is a homestead sim owned by “(-_*) The Bailey Family & Friends” group, which is founded by Marley (marleyy)
I rarely saw a sim with that many opportunities to sit and enjoy. The sim surround is selected perfectly to fit into the theme.

Designed to represent a piece of rural Norway, the region sits within a ring of green mountains, surrounded by water as if snuggled at the inland end of a fjord, a single channel leading out to sea, watched over by the rotating eye of a lighthouse.

We're very happy to present the amazing Art of Modou Camara @ Gallery Fermate. Modou is a well known artist from The Gambia, West Africa. He developed his own African contemporay style. Brilliant colors combined with the use of raw materials make his paintings to represent a truly magical African experience. Modou is president of the Gambian devision of PACA (Pan African Circle of Artists). He had exhibitions in Guinea Bissau, Dakar (Dak Art), and his works were exhibited in Denmark, Germany, Norway, America and now in Second Life! He participated in all national exhibitions in The Gambia, where he also participates in, and organises international art workshops.

Back in 2015 I wrote about the merfolk of Fanci’s Deep, who were holding a week of underwater activities to encourage folk to explore their undersea community, centred around the four regions of Fanci’s Deep. These form a part of the Blake Deeps, covering roughly 13 regions to the east of Blake Sea and south of Blake’s Passage as it cuts its way westward from Blake Sea to Second Norway.

Osprey Ridge is a homestead region within the United Sailing Sims located eastward of Blake Sea and a place we’ve often passed when our sailing or boating. Open to the public, the region has been landscaped by Markarius Viper and is cared for by Flo (SweetFloXO) and presents a pleasing environment in which to spend time. The best place to start a visit is at the moorings on the north side of the island, sheltered from the passage linking Blake Sea with Second Norway by a natural grassy breakwater. From here, visitors can walk eastwards along the moorings and the beach to come to a cosy summer gazebo sitting alongside a reedy pond, or head inland along a wooded track which winds its way to a sturdy and comfortable log cabin.
