''There is another world, but it is in this one.'' William Butler Yeats Owner and artist is Cica Ghost
In the usual Cica style, this installation is also equipped with oversized animals and plants. With dancing opportunities and buildings of a slightly different kind. This time the choice of colors and the cherry blossoms particularly stand out. Brown to slightly pink.

Owner and sim designer is Lauren Bentham Hillvale Bay opened on April 26, 2024 and fits seamlessly into the other fantastic regions that Lauren owns.
Hillvale Bay is U-shaped. To the side are the rental properties and in between there is a run-down amusement park, as the post-apocalypse theme was also taken up in the new region. A mountain range surrounds the island, but it is far away and therefore hard to see.

The owner and sim designer is Hera (zee9) Hera has redesigned her region again, i.e. two platforms, improved old scenarios, rebuilt them and the Dracula Castle in the Carpathian Mountains is completely new. How long everything stays like this depends on the number of visitors, according to the notecard you receive there. So as always, visit Hera's region as soon as possible.
This time the landing point is in a train carriage that also drives. There you will find three posters on the wall. One leads to Whitby, one to London and the one in the middle to the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania.
Hera writes "This started as a clean-up operation in Whitby. I restored Lucy's Mansion instead of Crowley Boleskine to bring it closer to Bram Stokers' Dracula film Again. That's when I came up with the idea of adding the other half of the story, which takes place at Dracula's Castle in the Carpathians. So that's what I did. When I was done I still had a lot of prims left so I thought I would make it a complete steampunk experience and restore Steampunk Whitechapel. Aside from the new Dracula Castle simulation, I've also added new rooms and details in all of the other two sims, including slightly more detailed design of Whitby with its double pier and old town hall, and you can also rez a hot air balloon here at the landing point at the train station . I hope you enjoy everything." Click on the photo for the full blog

There can be little doubt that Jade’s interpretation is a welcome returnee to Second Life, and represents a vision of what might actually be the most evocative era of the real Hotel’s history, and does so in a manner that both pays homage to the broader historical context of the Tequendama area whilst perfectly fitting the constraints of a Second Life region. This version for Spring 2024 offers a pleasing mix of themes and influences. The subtle touches of fantasy (such as via the elven-like lanterns lighting the many paths through the setting) are present, there is much to appreciate in terms of natural flora and fauna, superb use is made of landscaping elements to give the setting a unique, rugged look and beauty which is softened through the use of grasses, trees, water, shrubs and paths. - Designer Lady Di Fluffington (dianna.fluffington) Click on the photo for the full blog by Inara Pey

In Bram Stoker's gothic work "Dracula," Mina Murray and her Lucy Westenra find themselves staying in lodging near the hauntingly beautiful Whitby Abbey. Mina notes that the place is "a house to let, Furnished, moderately and sufficiently for our purpose.” My primary interest is obviously Hotels, Guesthouses and other accommodations, so I was excited to see that SL creator Hera has breathed new life into this iconic guesthouse, resurrecting it from the pages of the film and novel and bringing it to Second Life. But Hera's project goes far beyond a single building; in her new project, Victoriana, she has meticulously crafted Whitby, a stunning recreation of Victorian East London and Vlad Dracul’s Castle.

If you are familiar with this blog, you know my absolute favourite place in SL is Mopire City. I have blogged about it several times (check the ‘search thingy’ on my blog), and will probably blog about it several times more. Mopire City (part of the Mopire City/Rieri-Town/Hiraya-Town/Tokyo-Windhill City/Mitsumi-Town complex) is HUGE, and exquisitely constructed… the best build in SL, as far as I’m concerned… yet hardly anyone I meet has even heard of it.… Click on the photo for the full blog For more posts about Mopire City see https://www.scoop.it/topic/second-life-destinations?q=Mopire

One place that has successfully fostered a sense of community where people actually live, interact, and play is the brand-new Heatwaves. This new development from the team behind the very popular Sonance nightclub boasts an excellent design and build by one of the Sonance owners, Katt Harcourt, who has created something resembling a vibrant hippyish beach community with Californian and Mediterranean influences. Heatwaves offers regular events from club nights to film nights, but one of the highlights is the lively atmosphere on the beach and at the beachside bar during European and North American evenings Click on the photo for the full blog

When I started this website and was conducting research three and a half years ago, I stumbled upon amazing pictures on Flickr of an abandoned hotel nestled in a tropical paradise. The images were breathtaking, but I was gutted when I found out that the Hotel Del Salto had closed its doors just weeks earlier. Now, creator Jade Koltai has resurrected this gem, and I couldn't resist paying a visit. Click on the photo for the full blog
