First in a five-part series. When you spend a week interviewing people about a social media bubble and whether it exists, one of the things you notice is that people who insist there is no bubble make little mention of revenue and business models.

Just as successful professionals and companies share similar traits, so do great content marketing campaigns. They all have four key elements that make up the code for building great content.
Ahava Leibtag - http://bit.ly/IB8MN0 - calls them "The Four I's" 1. Inform Through daily emails, engaging eBooks, and valuable white papers, its content creators churn and burn on important digital and marketing issues of the day. 2. Instruct Explain your product and coach / support your customer 3. Inspire Creating an emotional connection with customers 4. Initiate It’s important to make your customers feel part of a community. Distribution is critical to a great content marketing campaign across the right channels ensuring that you have identified the answers to these fundamental and imperative questions: A>Branding/messaging: Who are you, and what do you represent and offer? What do you need to say? How can you provide value to your customers? Who are you trying to reach? What do they care about? Where and across what channels do they consume content? What types of content are best for these users? How will you distribute it so there is a cohesive user experience across all components of the campaign? Ultimately, make sure you inform, instruct, inspire, and initiate your customers and you’ll have chain after chain of great content marketing campaigns. Via maxOz

I would take his BI prediction strike rate to Vegas tomorrow and win big, but integration is still a pipe dream. There is a new generation of "coupling" tools that are more data structure agnostic than ever (Entrinsik's Informer comes to mind), but understanding that integration is even POSSIBLE is the first step. Since EVERYTHING is increasingly integrateable it won't be long before even die hards recognize how to couple disparate data sets and then hand over the keys (to the users as Boris points out).
Customer Relations Management (CRM) in this digital age, requires the deployment of an appropriate software program, in order for any SME business to be truly effective in managing their customers and their relationships with those customers. A CRM program is not just a tool for sales and marketing types in a business, it should be integral to the business strategy, and used by everyone in the business as part of their respective roles. This excellent article, explains why CRM is a must have tool for small business owners, and it identifies the top five CRM trends and discusses CRM best practices that you can implement in your business. Traditional marketing is still a powerful marketing medium and email is still one of the best ways to get someones attention.
The challenge for email is that it is much harder for it to be shared compared to new emerging low friction social marketing channels such as Facebook and Twitter.
Many well optimized blogs including the biggest blog in the world Huffington Post (recently sold to Yahoo for over $300 million) understand this intimately and include options to content share by providing buttons throughout the site to “like” and “share” on Facebook and “retweet” on Twitter as well as email a friend.

Women are much more likely than their male counterparts to engage in blogging, follow brands and celebrities online, and buy products online that they’ve seen featured on television, according to a new report from Nielsen.
Nielson's latest State of The Media (PDF) report shows that women are 8 percent more likely than men to create or update their own personal blog. They're also 18 percent more likely to become a fan or follow a brand on a social site such as Facebook or Twitter.
When it comes to who has at least one social networking profile up and running, the women are 6 percent more likely to have accomplished that task. Same holds for users who actively follow a celebrity online. Again, women took the lead, proving to be 15 percent more likely to follow the stars.
