We're excited to unveil the result of a months-long partnership with the Angular team.

This partnership has been very productive and rewarding experience for us, and as part of this collaboration, we're happy to announce that Angular 2 will now be built with TypeScript.  We're looking forward to seeing what people will be able to do with these new tools and continuing to work with the Angular team to improve the experience for Angular developers.

Futuristic Routing in Angular

Futuristic Routing in Angular | Angular.org.il | Scoop.it
A few months ago the Angular team announced that there's going to be a completely new router component in one of the future Angular releases. In fact, the new router is being implemented for Angular 2.0 and was planned to be back ported for the 1.3 release. Unfortunately, it turned out that it takes a bit more effort to make the same powerful router available for both development branches based on the same code base, so the team decided to postpone the back port of the new router to the next big

Writing AngularJS Apps Using ES6

Writing AngularJS Apps Using ES6 | Angular.org.il | Scoop.it
This article explains how ECMAScript 6 can be used to write AngularJS applications.
Eyal Vardis insight:

As many of you are aware, ECMAScript 6 is in its draft state now and is expected to be finalized some time this year. But it already caught a lot of attention in the community and browsers have already started implementing it. We also have a number of transpilers like Traceur, 6to5, and many that convert ES6 code to ES5 compatible code. Community members have started playing around ES6 and many of them are blogging what they learn. SitePoint’s JavaScript channel also has a good number of articles describing different features of ES6.

Parallel Processing with Promises

Parallel Processing with Promises | Angular.org.il | Scoop.it
a simple method of writing a collaborative system

Using the design pattern described in this article, programmers can build collaborative systems of threads or processes that are simple and easy to reason about because of the abstraction provided by promises. As promises are available in many languages, this design pattern can be implemented in whichever language is most appropriate or even in multiple languages for each process.

Boost the Performance of an AngularJS Application Using Immutable Data

Boost the Performance of an AngularJS Application Using Immutable Data | Angular.org.il | Scoop.it
I have affinity to functional programming since my first year in college. During my initial contact with a purely functional programming language (Haskell in my case) I didn’t really understand all the advantages it provides, everything was reduced to just writing a cool recursive functions and solving algorithmic problems.

Learn how to use $scopes properly in AngularJS | ThinkingMedia

Learn how to use $scopes properly in AngularJS | ThinkingMedia | Angular.org.il | Scoop.it

Here is a tutorial for the 7 best practices for working with $scopes in AngularJS.

Eyal Vardis insight:
#1 – Keep the $rootScope clean of variables

This rule is based on the idea that the $rootScope is a global variable and falls under the best practice that Global Variables Are Bad. Adding variables to the$rootScope will result in source code that is difficult to maintain. The usage of those variables will be scattered across JavaScript files, directives, controllers and templates. It will also make it difficult to unit test source code and do refactoring.
