The present study aims at examining the influence of the compositions of Antonio Vivaldi in order to develop the ability of positive thinking of undergraduates.


Music therapy is broadly used as a form of psychological treatment for people with heart diseases and some mental illnesses such as schizophrenia by improving their mental health.


Theoretical framework of this study is based prior research on Mozart Effect done by Western Europe but participant populations were not undergraduates. In relaxation music commonly use nature as the main theme of their compositions.


Baroque era (c.1600-1760) is to be stated as the most evolutionary period of writing compositions based on nature in the history of western music.


Hence the research instrument consists of music composition by Antonio Vivaldi: Four Seasons prove to be more influential in this respect.


The participants were 40 undergraduates of the University of Kelaniya selected under stratified random sampling. To examine the feasibility of a randomized trial of music therapy the research was carried out through participant observation as a qualitative experimental research.


In this social survey collecting data was done with a semi structured questionnaire and behavioral and attitudinal data was gathered by separating the sampling in to two categories such as controlled and experimental groups.


The findings of the research state that there is a direct effect on the development of positive attitudes by listening to the music compositions of Antonio Vivaldi...

Read this CPR guide now so you know what to do if someone if ever experiencing a life-threatening emergency.


Doing CPR right away can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival...


Follow these steps:

1. Position your hand. Make sure the patient is lying on his back on a firm surface. Kneel beside him and place the heel of your hand on the center of the chest.



2. Interlock fingers. Keeping your arms straight, cover the first hand with the heel of your other hand and interlock the fingers of both hands together. Keep your fingers raised so they do not touch the patient’s chest or rib cage.


3. Give chest compressions. Lean forward so that your shoulders are directly over the patient’s chest and press down on the chest about two inches. Release the pressure, but not your hands, and let the chest come back up.


Repeat to give 30 compressions at a rate of 100 compressions per minute.



⚑ Note: Read the curated article to contemplate The American Heart Association's  recommendations in this regard.


4. Open the airway. Move to the patient’s head. Tilt his head and lift his chin to open the airway again. Let his mouth fall open slightly.


5. Give rescue breaths. Pinch the nostrils closed with the hand that was on the forehead and support the patient’s chin with your other hand. Take a normal breath, put your mouth over the patient’s, and blow until you can see his chest rise.


6. Watch chest fall. Remove your mouth from the patient’s and look along the chest, watching the chest fall. Repeat steps five and six once.

7. Repeat chest compressions and rescue breaths. Place your hands on the chest again and repeat the cycle of 30 chest compressions, followed by two rescue breaths. Continue the cycle.

Neutron therapy is a highly effective form of radiation therapy. Long-term experience with treating cancer has shown that certain tumor types (pathologies) are very difficult to kill using conventional radiation therapy.


These pathologies are classified as being "radioresistant." Neutron therapy specializes in treating inoperable, radioresistant tumors occurring anywhere in the body.


Radiation therapy is the use of penetrating beams of ionizing radiation, primarily to treat cancerous/malignant tumors. Conventional radiation therapy includes photon (x-ray) and electron radiation, which is available at many clinics and hospitals.


These beams are produced by electron accelerators or from radioactive sources such as cobalt. Hadron therapy includes neutrons and protons, which are generated using proton or deuteron accelerators.


The basic effect of ionizing radiation is to destroy the ability of cells to divide, by damaging their DNA strands. For photon, electron and proton radiation the damage is done primarily by activated radicals produced from atomic interactions.


These types of radiation are called low linear-energy-transfer (low LET) radiation. Neutrons are high linear-energy-transfer (high LET) radiation and the damage is done primarily by nuclear interactions. If a tumor cell is damaged by low LET radiation it has a good chance to repair itself and continue to grow. With high LET radiation the chance for a damaged tumor cell to repair itself is very small.


In general, fast neutrons can control very large tumors, because unlike low LET radiation, neutrons do not depend on the presence of oxygen to kill the cancer cells. In addition, the biological effectiveness of neutrons is not affected by the time or stage in the life cycle of cancer cells, as it is with low LET radiation. It often happens that large tumors have metastasized (spread) to other parts of the body before the patient seeks treatment. In these cases neutrons can be used to control the primary tumor, but chemotherapy must be used to limit the spread of cancer through the rest of the body.


Because the biological effectiveness of neutrons is so high, the required tumor dose to kill cancer cells is about one-third the dose required with photons, electrons or protons.


A full course of neutron therapy is delivered in only 10 to 12 treatments, compared to 30 - 40 treatments needed for low LET radiation...

We often forget such a basic necessity of life when we’re working long days (combined with your no doubt stacked social calendar).


I used to suck at sleeping. I’d watch TV shows or movies on my laptop to the wee hours of the morning, only to regret it when the alarm blares in the my face shortly thereafter.


From there, I’d usually nuke the system with a ton of coffee through the day to mask my sleepiness, only to regret this decision upon trying to fall asleep the following night.


It lead to a cycle of caffeine fuelled unproductivity....
