Of all the content found by the IWF, 71% – the equivalent of 93,962 URLs – was hosted in the Netherlands. This was an increase from 2018, when the Netherlands was found to be hosting 47% of all known child sexual abuse material.
The Netherlands has become a target for hosting child sexual abuse material due to its strong internet infrastructure, which makes it an easy place for any internet company to operate, offering low-cost hosting services, the IWF said.

A Florida man who was caught downloading thousands of images that contained either child pornography or child erotica said he viewed the graphic content as a “boredom killer” even though he knew it was wrong and he hated himself for it, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

A Leesburg man will spend the next 40 years in federal prison for producing and sharing child pornography, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida announced Thursday.Thomas Edward Abney Jr. was already a registered sex offender after a 2005 conviction for possession of child pornography and using a computer to solicit or obtain sex with minors, according to Florida Department of Law Enforcement records.Abney pleaded guilty to the latest charges in September.
