Leveraging the value proposition of Hybrid Events with the right technology

Leveraging the value proposition of Hybrid Events with the right technology | Edumorfosis.Work | Scoop.it

The COVID-19 virus and its many variants are likely far from done with us. As such, event producers and companies are contending with how to format their corporate events. Do they remain virtual, as was the case during the shutdowns? Do they go back to in-person events? Or is there way that they can take advantage of benefits of virtual and in-person events at the same time? In many cases, businesses are focusing on producing hybrid events. I think we’ll look at 2020 as the year business leaders learned that we can absolutely collaborate remotely, be productive, and serve our clients by applying the right technology solutions to meet virtual and in-person situations.

Experts share 6 positive AI visions for the future of work

Experts share 6 positive AI visions for the future of work | Edumorfosis.Work | Scoop.it

Current trends in AI are nothing if not remarkable. Day after day, we hear stories about systems and machines taking on tasks that, until very recently, we saw as the exclusive and permanent preserve of humankind: making medical diagnoses, drafting legal documents, designing buildings, and even composing music.

Our concern here, though, is with something even more striking: the prospect of high-level machine intelligence systems that outperform human beings at essentially every task. This is not science fiction. In a recent survey the median estimate among leading computer scientists reported a 50% chance that this technology would arrive within 45 years.

Future of Work: What the post-pandemic workplace holds for remote workers’ careers

Future of Work: What the post-pandemic workplace holds for remote workers’ careers | Edumorfosis.Work | Scoop.it

What does the future hold for remote workers? And what will post-pandemic workdays look like—back to the office, working from home or a hybrid? While the light at the end of the tunnel seems within reach, companies across the globe are scrambling to create the future workplace. One way to predict the future of work is to understand people’s remote work experiences over the last year. And based on recent reports, one thing is clear: remote work has left an impression. The Limeade Institute’s Employee Care Report 3.0 found that 100% of formerly onsite workers said they’re anxious about returning to the office, 71% said they were concerned about less flexibility and 77% said they’re worried about exposure to Covid-19.

The three critical skills you must develop for the Future of Work

The three critical skills you must develop for the Future of Work | Edumorfosis.Work | Scoop.it

Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it.” The words of the great industrialist Henry Ford, from over a century ago, still resonate today. In the knowledge economy, the assembly line has been replaced with a new method of output. The future of work depends on your ability to think - and to think critically - about ways to innovate, create and lead through change. The challenge is: the world wants to rob us of our greatest skill. Indeed, we are living the docudrama of The Social Dilemma - and it’s crippling the future of work. Social media, combined with a desperate desire for distraction (brought on by the pandemic) makes everyone have the attention span of a ferret after a double espresso. Nervous and uncertain about the future, bombarded by 500 million tweets per day, how can we create new ideas - without the focus and fortitude to develop them? The future of work depends on focus. Because where you put your attention is where you find your results.

Modelos híbridos: No es cuánto y dónde, sino quién y cómo

Modelos híbridos: No es cuánto y dónde, sino quién y cómo | Edumorfosis.Work | Scoop.it

The essential components of Digital Transformation

The essential components of Digital Transformation | Edumorfosis.Work | Scoop.it

The digital revolution forced every organization to reinvent itself, or at least rethink how it goes about doing business. Most large companies have invested substantial cash in what is generally labelled “digital transformation.” While those investments are projected to top $6.8 trillion by 2023, they’re often made without seeing clear benefits or ROI. Although these failures have multiple causes, they are generally the result of underestimating the various steps or stages required to successfully execute a transformation agenda.

In a hybrid work environment where some workers are in the office, while others are remote, office space is simply less necessary, and leases are often not being renewed, according to Raj Krishnamurthy, CEO of workplace technology firm Freespace. Freespace’s building sensors discover unused space, and its software helps companies consolidate and schedule employee on-site visits.

[PDF] The Metaverse: Web 3.0 Virtual Cloud Economies

[PDF] The Metaverse: Web 3.0 Virtual Cloud Economies | Edumorfosis.Work | Scoop.it
Crypto cloud economies are the next emerging market investment frontier and the Metaverse is at the forefront of this Web 3.0 internet evolution. The Metaverse is a set of interconnected, experiential, 3D virtual worlds where people located anywhere can socialize in real-time to form a persistent, user-owned, internet economy spanning the digital and physical worlds.

The Metaverse is still emerging, but many key components have started to take shape and are revolutionizing everything from e-commerce to media & entertainment, and even real estate. Our Grayscale Decentraland Report and Decentraland Tour make this concept more tangible by introducing one of the leading blockchain-based virtual worlds—Decentraland.

Projects like Decentraland are creating an open-world metaverse where users can log in to play games, earn MANA (the native token of Decentraland, with which users can purchase NFTs, including LAND or collectibles, and vote on economy governance), or create NFTs, giving them real world interoperability for the value of their time spent in-game.

The potential of this internet evolution has started to attract Web 2.0 companies like Facebook, which is shifting to a Metaverse company and is changing its name to “Meta”. At this inflection point, other leading Web 2.0 tech companies will likely need to start exploring the Metaverse to stay competitive, and the spotlight has prompted a new wave of investment in this emerging crypto category.

Value creation in the Metaverse: A utility framework for NFTs

Value creation in the Metaverse: A utility framework for NFTs | Edumorfosis.Work | Scoop.it

Whenever something new comes along, a few early adopters experiment without expectation, while the large majority questions the usefulness and viability of the endeavor. The gap between these two groups of people can stay rather vast for quite a long time. One one hand, those experimenting are having fun, making mistakes and feeding the emergent nature of collective invention. At the same time, the other group holds firm with their original assessment looking for permission to reconsider from a trusted, cultural oracle. The Metaverse is unique in that it will emerge over time through experimentation, failure, learning lessons, pivots and open minds who want to push the boundaries of the human experience. Many of those powering this emergence are providing thoughtful concepts for the large majority to digest and determine value.

The metaverse needs aggressive regulation

The metaverse needs aggressive regulation | Edumorfosis.Work | Scoop.it

I’ve also been a longtime critic of the field, issuing warnings about the negative impacts that AR and VR could have on society, especially when combined with the power of artificial intelligence. It’s not the technology I fear, but the fact that large corporations can use the infrastructure of the metaverse to monitor and manipulate the public at levels that make social media seem quaint. That’s because these platforms will not just track what you click on, but where you go, what you do, what you look at, even how long your gaze lingers. They will also monitor your facial expressions, vocal inflections, and vital signs (as captured by your smart-watch), all while intelligent algorithms predict changes in your emotional state.

Digital strategy in the postpandemic era

Digital strategy in the postpandemic era | Edumorfosis.Work | Scoop.it

One year into the COVID-19 crisis, our newest McKinsey Global Survey on digital strategy1 indicates that the pandemic has increased the pace of business and that technology capabilities will be critical to companies’ COVID-19 exit strategies as well as to what comes next. After seeing how the pandemic had sped up the adoption of digital technologies by several years, we took a closer look at how companies are rethinking the role of digital technology in their overall business strategy and how to conduct business at the quickening pace that’s now needed to operate.

The imperative for a strategic approach to technology is universal, yet some companies are already leading the pack; their responses show that better overall technology capabilities, talent, leadership, and resources (what we call a company’s “technology endowment”) are linked to better economic outcomes. At the same time, the results confirm that many organizations could be missing opportunities to invest in the areas of their business models that are most at risk of digital disruption.

The kingdom of Dilbert and of David Brent is now under threat. The pandemic has exposed the office to competition from remote working, and brought up a host of questions about how it should be designed in the future.

The pandemic has been a stressful time for all of us. It’s no surprise to learn that it has brought up introspection, reassessing what's important, mental health issues and dissatisfaction in employees. Whilst we might have expected that the tables would turn in favor of employers (because people would be desperate to keep their jobs), what has transpired is that people are more willing to leave their jobs. The power has shifted more towards the side of the employee than pre-pandemic. The Great Resignation has been a hot topic throughout 2021, and employees are expecting more than ever before from their employers
