You can collect your thousands of devices data at a very low cost using this disruptive IoT operator. It’s now time to ingest those data into an hyperscale, enterprise grade cloud solution to enable the creation of value added scenarii.
Hopefully, the Sigfox team and the Microsoft team worked together on the ease of integration with Microsoft Azure.

CloudRF supports LoRa with a low receiver threshold of -140dBm, a dedicated sub-noise floor colour schema, hardware template for novice users and propagation models suitable for the UHF spectrum it uses. Cellnex Switzerland and HELIOT, the operator for the Sigfox technology in Switzerland, will roll out the first global IoT (Internet of Things) network based on ultra-narrow band (UNB) modulation in Switzerland using more than 350 sites.
Cellnex has been operating in Switzerland since August 2017 when it acquired the company Swiss Towers AG and integrated the 2,839 sites that cover the entire Swiss territory into its portfolio of European telecommunications infrastructures. The Swiss IoT network will be the second rolled out by Cellnex in Europe in cooperation with Sigfox. In 2015 Cellnex rolled out the first IoT network in Spain, to which more than 1 million devices are connected daily.

Sigfox has entered into collaboration with Telxius, the infrastructure company created by Telefónica, to further accelerate the expansion of the Sigfox network in Germany. The cooperation enables Sigfox to increase its network coverage in Germany to more than 80 percent in one fell swoop.

Sigfox’s co-founder is eyeing a listing in 2019 and pondering a pre-IPO round later this year, after reassuring investors about the future of the French startup. With money from backers including Salesforce.com Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co., Sigfox has expanded its network for connected objects, added sizable customers and is on track to become profitable in the fourth quarter, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Ludovic Le Moan said in an interview in Paris.

Eutelsat Communications has commissioned a nano-satellite from manufacturer Tyvak International SRL. Eutelsat LEO for Objects (ELO) will be used to assess the performance of low earth orbit (LEO) satellites in providing narrowband connectivity for objects. The satellite operator will be drawing on the technology of Sigfox, which runs a unique global narrowband network dedicated to the IoT.

The original Weightless specification was based on white-spaces and renamed to Weightless-W once it was deprecated. Then a new specification was released based on nWave called Weightless-N, also deprecated. Then the last specification was released based on Platanus called Weightless-P, now renamed to Weightless. As almost nobody use Weightless, the SIG decided to make the Weightless-P specification public and available to anyone who wants to give the email address, not only members. Some key board members of the Weightless SIG departed, the rest of the board members hold while there are funds from the membership fees. I am not claiming the Weightless-P specification is bad, but I predict Weightless will never success as a widely used standard.
