How To Reverse Phone Lookup For Free Using Google

How To Reverse Phone Lookup For Free Using Google | Tech Check | Scoop.it
Are you trying to Reverse Phone Lookup a random call? It’s a beautiful, sunny morning, and you’ve just woken up, and just as you step out of bed, your phone rings, for a split second. You look at the number to see who tried to reach you, but you don’t recognize who this is. And you aren’t the only one; there are a lot of people that get random calls from places all over. While caution should be exercised when answering, do not instantly call back; try to first find out who it is that called you. Why? Because certain people that we call scammers exist on the internet, and the numbers they use have ridiculous per-minute prices, whose sole purpose is to drain you of your money by keeping you talking, or worse, siphon personal information out of you.
Who’s Been Calling You?
What you need to be wary of, first of all, is what the number looks like: where is it coming from? Is it an 800 number? Is it hooked to a 800 number? Are you sure you didn’t post ads recently, or anything that included an invitation to call you? Did you put your phone number somewhere public some time ago, and you’ve recently started getting weird calls? Then buckle up, I’ve got a ride for you.
If you have recently posted some form of invitation to call you, like an advertisement for an item for sale, or other potential purchase or sale of goods and services, then the call is more likely than not to be legit. However, be aware that, if someone calls you, and you hear the phrase “can you hear me?”, do not answer; hang up right away and ignore the phone number, this is a scammer’s way of getting a “yes” out of you, which they are recording, and could use as verbal authentication from you to, say, siphon money out of an account. You don’t want that.
However, if you do not remember having done anything like this recently, then it is probably a really, really good idea to tread cautiously. The longer it has been since you advertised something and someone called about it last time, the more chances there are that these are scammers calling, or other numbers with exorbitant per-minute fees.
What Can You Do?
But what can you do about it? Well, the phrase uttered above may be cause for alarm. It is not a surefire way to say it’s a scammer. However, if both parties are using their phones correctly, then it is, due to how telephony technology works, impossible to not hear the person on the other side, unless one party is in the midst of a very noisy environment, such as a loud dance floor, or in high winds. So, the best thing that you can do if you don’t have any really solid evidence against someone is to just ignore it and forget it.
What about voicemails? These can be a little harsh, too; while many people are honest [...]
