A household impact evaluation led by University of California, Davis, and the Haitian State University FAMV found that while improved rice production techniques do result in significantly higher yields, in Haiti SRI requires 25% more labor than traditional methods. The increased expense for labor means that SRI does not necessarily leave most households better off, although those with access to relatively inexpensive household labor do experience a positive impact on revenue. Two public events to disseminate and discuss the research results were held in Haiti during early December. [See also Oxfam document (http://bit.ly/2lcHK94) and video (in Creole) http://bit.ly/2l8avUs
