Sometimes, there may be reasons why our students feel apprehensive about group project due to their prior experiences. They may not have enough time to do the project, the project can be very difficult, free-rider, expectation gap etc.


As educators, we should maybe be mindful and try to pre-empt such problems from happening. Useful strategie include: (1) allocating class time for team project; (2) self and peer evaluation; (3) designing a reasonable difficult project with appropriate scaffolding etc.
