Final Fantasy VII writer and composer release new iPhone game Borderwalker | Soundtrack | Scoop.it
Composer Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy 1 through 10), Hideo Minaba (art director from Final Fantasy VI and IX), and Kazuhige Nojima (scenario writer of Final Fantasy VII and VIII) are behind Borderwalker, a role-playing game about a world that is divided into two halves, one where it is perpetually daytime and another where it’s always night. You play as a “borderwalker,” someone that can pass between the two realms.

Pretty "iCool" idea, but seems like it is lacking quite a bit.  Of course, Google/Android could do this right ... but probably never will.

iPhone 5 ad music composer Rob Simonsen talks about writing for Apple commercials | SiliconBeat

iPhone 5 ad music composer Rob Simonsen talks about writing for Apple commercials | SiliconBeat | Soundtrack | Scoop.it

Think of it as an occupational hazard: While working on my column about the piano music in the latest iPhone commercials, I’ve become a Rob Simonsen groupie.

I couldn’t reach Simonsen before my column deadline, but I talked to him today and here are a few things that I learned: The guy is a huge Apple fan. Never mind  his music, he has starred in an Apple commercial. And Apple has dropped its cone of silence over him as far as dishing particulars about how the gig came about, what it paid, etc.

iPhone, iPod Touch users can now buy music from Amazon

iPhone, iPod Touch users can now buy music from Amazon | Soundtrack | Scoop.it

iPhone users now have another option for downloading songs from their device.

Amazon today launched its MP3 store for iPhone and iPod Touch users, allowing them to buy digital music from Amazon's 22-million song catalog. There's one catch, though. The purchases have to be made via the Safari Web browser, not through any of Amazon's apps. That means the process isn't quite as seamless as buying music throughiTunes.

Amazon noted that music purchases are automatically saved to the customer's Cloud Player library and can be downloaded or streamed instantly from an iPhone, iPod Touch, Kindle Fire, Android phone or tablet, Roku, Sonos home entertainment system, or any Web browser. It also said the MP3 mobile site is built on HTML5 so users can make purchases directly from www.amazon.com/mp3.
