Educate Kids about Music with Soundtracks | Simon's Stuff | Soundtrack | Scoop.it

We've all heard Soundtracks. They are the music in TV shows, Movies, and Computer games that get us excited, scare us, or bring tears to our eyes.

Soundtracks are a great extra dimension to enjoy with the kids as you watch TV or Movies with them.

Playing the soundtrack of a movie after the kids have watched it often triggers a discussion about which part of the movie the music is from, what the feelings in the music are, and how they match what was happening on screen.

Soundtracks are also a great introduction to the world of classical music. Composers from throughout the history of music have always composed soundtracks. Operas are essentially what a musical was from the 1600s, Masses were the soundtrack to a particular kind of church service. They've been around since Gregorian chants in the middle ages. A lot of folk music tells a story. Many classical pieces are music set to myths and legends.
