I recently got the tip from Sharon Hinterland (owner of the Otter Lake region) to take a look at the "HAUS Museum of Art" . When Strawberry added this museum to the highlights from the Destination Guide last Friday, I took a look at it.

The country information says: The story of who we are and a collection of things we love. A place for people who come together in love, laughter and happiness. ARNICAR India is the owner and sim designer. The whole thing is built on a homestead.

There are a number of excellent vacation resorts in Second Life, where you book in advance and get a group tag on check in. Unfortunately there are far fewer hotels I've been able to recommend that look and feel like their RL equivalents, and where just like in RL you can meet people at the bar or restaurant even if you are not staying there. As a result I was really pleased to discover the brand new Plaza Hotel. The Plaza has literally just opened, and Muti and myself were one of the first guests.

At the end of my last post about Golgothica I mentioned returning to check out the chapel and the windmill. Well..I’ve done that and wow there was so much I missed out! First I had a glance inside the suspected tavern, lovely little place, more on that later..first the chapel. You have to head down the side of the tavern that lets you reach a bridge across to the rather spooky-looking place.

Today there is a new installation of Lex Machine (Archetype11 Nova). He's been redesigning his region every few months since starting a series of "Hotel California" installations in mid-2019 . For some time now, however, he has been giving each new design an individual name.

’ll start out by saying I’m getting to Curiosity Lake, the homestead region designed by SadyCat Littlepaws somewhat late in the day – or rather days, given it will closing on February 28th. I’m not sure how it slipped through my net of landmarks of places to explore, but it did. So to fix matters, I suggested to Caitlyn we hop over and take a look this past weekend.

I scrolled through scoop.it SL Destinations and came across Cravone City. The published picture of a big city caught my attention immediately. The entry led to a post from Maddy Gynoid "Simtipp: Cravone City" (in German) which I read before visiting. Cravone City is built on a full moderate region, that is owned by a…

Today there is a small series of pictures from the shop region "The Looking Glass" . Because currently you can see quite a few photos of this region on Flickr. It almost looks like a Flickr photographer competition to see who will take the best photos of this impressive region.

I visited Lightning Bolt, today. I was straight away struck by the attention to small detail, here... ... then, by how much very charming cuteness there is here. Not cloying, kittens on cupcakes, cuteness (who doesn't like kittens on cupcakes!?), but wonderful, whimsical cuteness... ... like these guys. There's so much sweet stuff here, the…

Thanks to the suggestion of Jarla Capalini, a photographer I think is excellent in the panorama of SL bloggers, I had the pleasure to know Skrunda 2, a new destination with a post-apocalyptic/grunge style. The owner is Titus Palmira, whose profile I explored to get to know him better. I admit that I was fascinated by his photographs posted on Flickr. It is a visual style not evident, which seems to be an exploration into a suffering society’s communicative world. Of course, this is only my impression, as I have not enjoyed exploring this topic with Palmira himself.

VARGSÅNGEN (Wolf Song in Swedish) is a homestead region designed and held by Camila Runo that has been coming in for a lot of attention of late, having been featured in a number of blogs and in a Destination Guide short video. And it entirely right that it has, because the region is home to an engaging build that is fully evocative of the Viking era.

In the United States’ modern mythology, Route 66, established in the 1920s, emerged as a symbolic way to hope and freedom, to the promises of a better life or to the dreams of a more authentic existence on earth. This set of images also comes to my mind when I visit Mother Road – Mirage Motel 66 in Second Life, which, together with its neighbor sims, presents a small town built on the desert along a representation of probably the most famous highway that the US has had.

It’s been a year since Caitlyn and I last visited Gnaaah Xeltentat’s Florence at Low Tide. As that time, the region offered an early spring setting with a lean towards the Mediterranean in some of its styling. As we’re heading back towards spring, and needing a break to compose thoughts on another blog post I’m working on, I hopped back for another look and see what early 2021 has brought to the region.

For my simploring tour on Saturday morning, February 6th, I picked Chateau de la Marliere from scoop.it SL Destinations. The entry led to a blogpost with just a few pictures that really looked nice. What tempted me in addition was, that there wasn’t any other post about Chateau de la Marliere so far. Chateau de la Marliere is built on a half full, moderate region. It is owned by Antoine De La Marlière (stillgames). The place profile is short, yet inviting “French Chateau open to the public, relax, take a photo and simply enjoy the view“

Everlong is a moderate homestead region. The owner is ARNICAR India . Since I have already written a lot of Simtips about her regions, there is a collective link at the end of the article from today that lists all her installations. I wrote my first simtip about a region of Arnicar over six years ago.

I visited the ‘Natural History Museum of Vienna‘, this morning. It’s many years since I was here last, but it’s not changed much. I don’t think the Bryn Oh exhibition was here, then, she wasn’t very famous when I was here last, though, I could be wrong, and it may have been here; that’s how long ago I visited here, though, so long ago it’s all a bit vague. This is a very old-SL-style build, three dimensional aspects represented by two dimensional images applied to the faces of prims. This looks delightfully dated, now, but has, for me, the same appeal as remembering what sound sounded like from a valve radio (yes, my human remembers that)…

The other week I explored Planet Idun, a Sci Fi jungle planet. Great for free form roleplay and photography. I took some pretty pics (if I may say so) and planned to return for some more exploring and information for a blogpost. So I did tonight, alas the region is closed,

I visited Where Our Journey Begins, this morning. This is a very conventional, scenic sim, no fantasy trees, here. When they are well done, I love these kinds of sims as much as I love the whimsical ones... ... which isn't to say there isn't the odd touch of whimsy, here, too... ... this is…

I've featured several Second Life city regions here recently. Some were new, others a little older. When I saw in the highlights from the SL Destination Guide last Friday that a region is now even called "New York City" , I visited it today.

Recently when I found out that 30 % of my DNA is from Eastern Europe & Russia which includes Belarus, Czechia, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Latvia, and Lithuania. I was happy to find Skrunda-1, also known as Skrunda-2, is a ghost town and former Soviet and Russian radar station located 5 km (3 mi) to the north of Skrunda, in Raņķi Parish, Latvia.

Currently open at the Janus I Gallery at Chuck Clip’s Sinful Retreat is a truly magnificent exhibition of the art of Kraven Klees which is an truly must-see event. Working in the digital medium, Kraven specialises in the creation of pieces encompassing a range of techniques – art, photography, mixed media = whilst also embracing a spectrum of approaches and styles including fractals, abstraction and photo layering, to create pieces that explore the boundaries of what we might consider art to be, and what it means to us personally.
